My favorite LitRPG so far
Revisado: 10-05-24
Most folks seem to list Dungeon Crawler Carl as the god-tier LitRPG series, and it is very good, but this one takes the cake for me. 4 books in and never a dull moment. Anthony is a fun and lovable protagonist, and the world building and magic/skill/mutation systems really scratch the progression itch like nothing else.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Happy, Happy, Happy
Revisado: 12-19-23
One of the best scifi novels I've ever read, certainly the most fascinating first contact. The story was engaging the whole way through, thought provoking, but also light and fun. The narration was fan-freaking-tastic.

Historia
Twenty-five years ago, it didn't exist. Today, 20 million people worldwide are surfing the Net. Where Wizards Stay Up Late is the exciting story of the pioneers responsible for creating the most talked about, most influential, and most far-reaching communications breakthrough since the invention of the telephone. In the 1960s, when computers where regarded as mere giant calculators, J.C.R. Licklider at MIT saw them as the ultimate communications devices.

Historia
Tell a stranger that you talk to yourself, and you’re likely to get written off as eccentric. But the truth is that we all have a voice in our head. When we talk to ourselves, we often hope to tap into our inner coach but find our inner critic instead. When we’re facing a tough task, our inner coach can buoy us up: Focus - you can do this. But, just as often, our inner critic sinks us entirely: I’m going to fail. They’ll all laugh at me. What’s the use?

Historia
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.

Open your eyes to how badly you need to close them
Revisado: 10-15-22
This book blew my mind and changed my life. If you're already convinced that you need to fix your sleep, there is still a wealth of fascinating information on how far reaching its affects are; but most or all tips on how to improve your own sleep are summarized in the Appendix.
