Historia
Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

Any additional comments?
you should have hired the same narrator for the "One Year After" book. The "performer" you got to do it was abysmal. Don't listen to the next book. Read it.

This narrator is abysmal
Revisado: 12-23-15
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The narrator of the first audiobook was great, this guy is so bad, it is almost as if it were a SNL skit or something.
Has One Year After turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, just anything done by the narrator.
What didn’t you like about Bronson Pinchot’s performance?
So over the top on the stereotypical southern accents and all the characters started to sound the same by the end of the performance.
Was One Year After worth the listening time?
no, read it instead
Any additional comments?
As probably the only person who has listened to the "After" series as well as the "Shades of Grey" audiobooks, Audible should do what they did after the first narration of Shades. It was so bad, they recast the performance and gave everyone who had purchased the original a free credit.

Historia
It’s the summer of 2005, and Mardi Jo Link’s dream of living the simple life has unraveled into debt, heartbreak, and perpetually ragged cuticles. She and her husband of nineteen years have just called it quits, leaving her with serious cash-flow problems and a looming divorce. More broke than ever, Link makes a seemingly impossible resolution: to hang on to her century-old farmhouse in northern Michigan and continue to raise her three boys on well water and wood chopping and dirt. Armed with an unfailing sense of humor and three resolute accomplices, Link confronts blizzards and foxes, learns about Zen divorce and the best way to butcher a hog, dominates a zucchini-growing contest and wins a year’s supply of local bread, masters the art of bargain cooking, wrangles rampaging poultry, and withstands any blow to her pride in order to preserve the life she wants.

More mindless fun! Answers lots of questions!
Revisado: 06-13-12
What made the experience of listening to Fifty Shades Darker the most enjoyable?
Love the narrator, but her male voices are comical. Was very satisfying to see the story arc
What did you like best about this story?
Anastasia getting in Mrs Robinson's face
Have you listened to any of Becca Battoe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
love her
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
See...?? Christian is not as f**ked up as you thought
Any additional comments?
To all those who hated the book and/or narration, please; get over your bad selves. This is a mindless summer read for goodness sake, not Proust. Agreed, you could start a new drinking game based on the limited vocabulary; take a shot every time Becca Battoe says " oh my", "hooded eyes", "prickling scalp", or "my sex". EVERY person I know who has read this book has seen significant "fringe benefits".
