Historia
Philip Marlowe is a fictional private eye created by Raymond Chandler. Marlowe first appeared, under that name, in The Big Sleep, published in 1939. The Adventures of Philip Marlowe was a radio series featuring the Marlowe character. It first aired 17 June 1947 on NBC radio and moved to CBS radio a few months later. By 1949, it had the largest audience in radio. The CBS version ran for 114 episodes. While many fans of classic hard-boiled detective stories are familiar with Chandler's novels and short stories, few have heard these radio shows.

Brilliant Hard Boiled Detective Stories.

It takes a moment to get used to the style of the production, and after a couple of stories in the Toothpaste ads also stop. These fantastic, original Radio-plays, and huge collection and absolutely worth it.
If you like Marlowe Stories, or other Noir Detective style books, this will be a joy.

Wonderful insights, but slightly marred
Revisado: 03-04-13
Gielgud delivers a fascinating insight into the character and his approach, as well as to the play as a whole. Along the way, a number of key speeches and scenes highlight and enliven the story.
I am not sure why the production felt in necessary to add Music to the production as Mr Gielgud's voice is quite sufficient in captivating an audience on the stage, as he does beautiful on a recording, so the interruptions diminish rather add to this instructive as well as entertaining hour.
