Historia
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

has potential for a good story line
Revisado: 08-31-24
the author needs to get over themselves and omit all the political garbage. Ripping on those that did not get the covid vac is not aging well. all the diversity interjection are a major distraction for what could be a great story line. Just checking off those "inclusion" boxes... ugh.

Historia
The number one New York Times best-selling story about American Olympic triumph in Nazi Germany, the inspiration for the PBS documentary The Boys of '36, broadcast to coincide with the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 80th anniversary of the boys' gold medal race. Out of the depths of the Depression comes an irresistible story about beating the odds and finding hope in the most desperate of times - the improbable, intimate account of how nine working-class boys from the American West showed the world at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin what true grit really meant.

I knew nothing about the art of rowing but now when I watch a rowing competition I will watch more intently knowing what the athletes are going through during the race and the price they paid to get there.

Historia
On his last combat deployment, Lt. Cmdr. James Reece's entire team was killed in an ambush that also claimed the lives of the aircrew sent in to rescue them. But when those dearest to him are murdered on the day of his homecoming, Reece discovers that this was not an act of war by a foreign enemy but a conspiracy that runs to the highest levels of government. Now, with no family and free from the military's command structure, Reece applies the lessons that he's learned in over a decade of constant warfare toward revenge.

Best military espionage suspense of 2023
Revisado: 08-17-23
Best read audiobook of 2023 that kept me in suspense for every chapter. I found myself reluctant to put down my headphones to eat dinner thanks to the phenomenal story and emotional performance. I will listen to this audiobook again and again.

Obsessed with first book, second is missing a lot
Revisado: 06-11-21
This could have been such a amazing story, it has so much to offer with the platform of the first book to springboard another gripping story. The redundant racism rants just kills the story. I get it, my grandparents lived in a generation that had some issues that they corrected and we have moved on from it. Do we need to be guilt tripped when we are trying to be entertained for something that happened before our time. There is a lot to unpack there, but if you want to be entertainers, keep things positive and you will have timeless stories to tell that uplift and heal society and not drag us through our historical flaws which escalate tensions in society. I am done with Hollywood's perception of societies morals, its not fun anymore.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Love Porters Narration and Weir hits another one
Revisado: 06-11-21
Love the book, typical Weir throwing a lot of science and practical answers to your space story line. You can actually learn a couple things when you get into it. Also there is very little political correctness or woke junk that makes you feel bad about society. practice what you preach and keep it positive. To many writers weave too much of that into the storylines and it leaves a scar on the story line. Stick to the facts, don't guilt trip society and it will be timeless.

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

No success more important than failure at home
Revisado: 08-17-20
He is funny, he is driven, he is HARD, he is a animal. No doubt that if there is anything that he puts his mind do he will achieve. His life starts out of how much of a D-bag his dad is, he wants to kill him. I understand that there is a large part of his drive that is fueled through his childhood struggle. Its hard core. What is not great is that he is on his 4th marriage because he is so hyper focused on achieving the unachievable that any possibility of a family life is secondary. Life is hard, I have been married for 20 years and its a different kind of hard. For a book that is supposed to be motivation of how to achieve the impossible, its useless if you can not end the cycle of neglectful parenting/marriage. Priorities are all out of wack and in a way, he admits it that what works for him may not work for anybody else. Duh, that is because we will not sacrifice the most important things we have in the world, our families, to do things that are beyond what any human could realistically achieve. He has become a role model for kids looking for a escape and that is great but there is more to life then Goggins getting back on the log. We look at this with amazement, and it is inspiring but please just take a bit of it to make yourself better not the entire package.

Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.
