Historia
Think and Grow Rich is the number-one inspirational and motivational classic for individuals who are interested in furthering their lives and reaching their goals by learning from important figures in history. The text read in this audiobook is the original 1937 edition written by Napoleon Hill and inspired by Andrew Carnegie - and while it has often been reproduced, no updated version has ever been able to compete with the original.

dated, I listened because it's referti in s few other books I've read. I'd didn't get many new ideas out if it. it's also very much selling itself right through the book - 25 years research is a phrase you hear in almost every chapter

Historia
Declan Walsh is one of the New York Times's most distinguished international correspondents. His electrifying portrait of Pakistan over a tumultuous decade captures the sweep of this strange, wondrous, and benighted country through the dramatic lives of nine fascinating individuals. On assignment as the country careened between crises, Walsh traveled from the raucous port of Karachi to the salons of Lahore, and from Baluchistan to the mountains of Waziristan. He met a diverse cast of extraordinary Pakistanis....

simple, repetitive and an ok start
Revisado: 02-11-25
this book is self-development on how to transform the way you think from being an employee to business owner and investor. not much for practical starting points, more about the self. it's short so possibly still worth listening to. I found the voice very boring at first but got used to it. and I'm still curious to learn more - but I definitely need other books and resources to get started on investing.

Historia
In Happy Derren Brown explores changing concepts of happiness - from the surprisingly modern wisdom of the Stoics and Epicureans in classical times right up until today, when the self-help industry has attempted to claim happiness as its own. He shows how many of self-help’s suggested routes to happiness and success – such as positive thinking, self-belief and setting goals – can be disastrous to follow and, indeed, actually cause anxiety. Happy aims to reclaim happiness and to enable us to appreciate the good things in life, in all their transient glory.

Historia
Don Quixote, the world's first novel and by far the best-known book in Spanish literature, was originally intended by Cervantes as a satire on traditional popular ballads, yet he also parodied the romances of chivalry. By happy coincidence he produced one of the most entertaining adventure stories of all time and, in Don Quixote and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, two of the greatest characters in fiction.

funnier than expected
Revisado: 11-17-21
i wasnt sure what to expect, but once you get into/used to the flowery language style, the book is an absolute ball to read. very funny throughout, great sense of humour and of itself, and gets profound in ways that i have never found in any other book. parts gonon a bit, but this is also part of the charm of the style.
some words are oddly translated in a very Spanglish way, like "divert" means to have fun, "carcas" means a living body, "career" means race, and some others are repeated frequently. if you know a bit of spanish, it would help, but as these words are repeated a lot, you'll most likely work them out from context.
and actually managed to finish it as an audiobook! both volumes are great, but i think the second takes the philosophy, self/meta-awareness and the pushes on Quixote's sanity to more interesting levels.
