First the story. zzzzzzz. Then the narration. Why does the narrator have to emphasize each freaking word. I had to put it in 1.5x speed to try and make it so that the word "and" didn't take 2 seconds and make me think the plot of the story is about to be revealed. I have tried to be open to these High Republic stories, but I can only take so much. The writing is horrible, the story telling and character building non-existent. Why can't they find better writers. The narration would be ok if he didn't try soooooooooo hard. Some lines in the book are just background aaaaannnnndddd DON"T! NEED such dramatic emphasis. Returning.

Nothing new here, but it is a good review of some basics. The diet section I think is a bit outdated, but again, it is all very high level. I don't think the PDF training plans accompany this though, which is the main reason I purchased the book. No real excuse for not including those anymore. Wouldn't recommend for anyone who has already run an ultra.
