The transformation of Margery

This story is about a very introverted and uncoordinated woman and her journey to discover not only a beetle but herself. The story starts slowly but is never boring, and after a few chapters I could hardly put it down.

The story started a bit slowly, but gradually emerged into a fascinating web of intrigue. The details of the British law courts are very interesting as they are in the rest of this great Charles Holborne series. Well worth a read.

This is an excellent read and hard to put down. Indeed there is some violence, but it is not exaggerated. The description of the Scottish islands is excellent and true to form. The characters are well developed and the narration is good. Certainly makes me want to read book2.

This maritime series is no 3 on my list after Bolitho (Alexander Kent) and Hornblower. I find the torture descriptions in this book just a little too detailed for my liking.

Historia
For most of the last hundred years, Biloxi was known for its beaches, resorts, and seafood industry. But it had a darker side. It was also notorious for corruption and vice, everything from gambling, prostitution, bootleg liquor, and drugs to contract killings. The vice was controlled by small cabal of mobsters, many of them rumored to be members of the Dixie Mafia.

For a book so long on the bestseller list, and with so many good reviews, I found this boring and tedious. Too much faith is placed in the author maybe. I was tempted to quit early , but with the limited return policy these days, I did get to the end!

This book should surely be required reading for all those interested in US Presidents, exploration, and the Mato Grosso. Very well written and narrated , it is a great adventure story which is hard to put down.
The book introduces other very interesting personalities such as Candido Rondon, and the naturalist Cherrie, as well as Roosevelt’s son Kermit. Having recently given up - maybe just temporarily- novels, this is a great place to start reading something historical, true, and fascinating.

Historia
Jesse McDermitt lives in the backcountry and very little happens near him that he's not fully aware of. During a quiet moment, he watches a slow-moving shrimp trawler as it serenely cruises by, barely visible on the horizon at the edge of the three-mile limit. The tranquility of the moment is shattered when the trawler is suddenly demolished in an enormous explosion. What caused the explosion? And why was a woman from Jesse's past on board? To find the answers to these questions and more, Jesse and friends will work from Miami to Key West, then across the water to Fort Myers.

Another great read from WS. I enjoy the boating scenes, the Keys, the fishing and of course Rusty's bar. This series of books really got me started at Audible and since then I have branched out to other series, but this one remains my all-time favorite. Not too complicated and the plot follows along naturally. If you like the Marines, boats or just having the good guys always win, then this series is for you. I just wish WS would pump them out faster.

I was so happy to find this series about the British Navy and the RNLI. These are excellent stories which make the books hard to put down. They are well-written and well researched, . Too bad there are only 4 in the series. Mike has passed away now-unfortunately. Some of the scenes of the storm in book 1 are truly thrilling. Mike must have been out in some bad weather conditions to get this right. For anyone who loves the sea, book 1 is a must
