Historia
In a moment of crisis for the T'au Empire, the enigmatic ethereal Yor’i assembles an elite Elemental Council – a veteran Fireblade, a water caste spy, a peerless air caste pilot, and a maverick earth caste engineer – in the hope of curtailing the growing insurgency on the planet Cao Quo. But as a full-scale planetary insurrection looms, enemies more cunning than Yor’i’s council could have imagined begin to surface from both sides, and Cao Quo soon finds itself teetering on the brink of being plunged back into a dark age of ignorance, and all-out war.

The Battle for the Greater (Interpretations of) Good
Revisado: 12-13-24
This is one of the best 40k books in the last couple years, and there has been some fantastic ones. Nguyen has stood out in this, not just as a Warhammer author but an author in general. The way the narrative is structured, and the journey it takes you, the twists, the turns, the laughs, and the TEARS. What a fantastic book this was, the characters were so life like I was literally cheering at times. I usually listen to the audiobooks when going to bed but I honestly could not sleep as this was just so captivating. Elemental Council is seriously a superb novel and if you are a fan of fiction in general, you will like this. I can't say it enough READ LISTEN, whatever it may be, get this book! Thank you so much to the author for providing me this experience, I feely life is actually net-better afterwards. I was already a fan of the other T'au novels, but this is a league of its own.

REVEOLUTIONARY
Revisado: 02-24-24
Guymer is such an underrated author, with his Lion primarch novel and this he has become a standout in great storytelling. The Sanguinius moment was touching and connecting. Glad to also see the World Eaters in a more realistic way, they are bloodthirsty but the crazed ones are never the ones who last. We see the cunning of the World Eaters and it is a great insight.
also love the Grey Knights! thanks Guymer

I gave thos 5 stars purely for the Horis short story. it is incredible and gripped me from the very beginning. I hope when we get Horus's primarch novel we learn more of his time in Cthonia.

Do you want to hear a secret?
Revisado: 07-21-23
I would give this a 4-star to be more honest, but I didnt want the 4 to take away from others reading this. i only would do 4 because it is TOO short. I waited so long for this to come out, and on top of that the years I waited for a Cypher novel. He is my favorite character in 40k and this was just so heartbreaking. Especially on the fact John French wrote an AMAZING 40k story. I was enthralled from the very beginning and the way the story weaves and builds and drops and weaves back is FANTASTIC. Dark Angels fans this is a must read, 40k fans this is an amazing read.
thank you John French, you did Cypher better than I could have imagined.

A fantastic end to one of the greatest stories.
Revisado: 07-05-23
After this trilogy it is safe to say Chris Wraight is one of the best authors in Black Library, period. This review is primarily for the entire thing, thought this book can be read standalone for definite. The story telling here is of the highest caliber, you learn and deal with themes such as pride and how important it is for one to overcome their own. You learn of the importance of supporting your friends when they are at their absolute lowest, even when that low hurts YOU. I cried several times over the the course of the three books but this last one had those moments in droves. We finally get to see a Space Marine focused novel on the fall of Cadia here and it is exactly what you'd want it to be. I truly hope Wraight returns to the Jarnhammar pack once again because I cant live in a world where they arent in the galaxy. I was a Space Wolves hater my entire adult life but this book brought so much life and love into the Vlka Fenryka. I am a convert after this trilogy.

The war-torn far future is laid bare as Brothers of the Snake follows the exploits of the Iron Snakes Space Marines as they battle against the enemies of mankind. First appearing in the pages of Inferno! magazine, the Iron Snakes Space Marines quickly gathered a loyal following, and now they wage war in a full-blown adventure, battling aliens and heretics as they defend the Imperium.

(anti-SJW reviewers, this book is from 2007)
Revisado: 11-03-22
This is a great introduction into the Iron Snakes, but these reviews chastising "modern day politics" show how inept other readers are. This book is from 2007, long before the term SJW was even a thing. its a real shame that this book is getting attacked for something as benign as what happens in it. These people are so blinded by their own insular echo chambers that they think this is a new book, IT CAME OUT BEFORE THE HORUS HERESY NOVELS. Anyways, great read Abnett is freaking king and shows how masterful a narrative can be. Usually old warhammer novels irk me the wrong way but this overcomes all that.

ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ ORKZ
Revisado: 03-20-22
If you aren't an Orkz fan, you will be after you read this book. I couldn't have cared less about the Orkz before but was cheering Ghazghkull and Makari's names by the 2nd chapter! This is such an important insight into the faction, while at the same time being incredibly entertaining... maybe even a bit inspiring to boot. The narrators are top notch which is backed by the author's writing.
A+ all around, and anyone getting upset at the gender thing is either willfully stupid or just accidentally. Orkz are made of fungus, they would not have human genders. *They* is the correct usage, for example when you refer to a subject and do not know their gender "As a worker THEY work" Also, they are literal mushrooms so unless in your daily life you refer to plants has "he" or "she", which then, I got some scary news for you.

The Dark Angels and the Night Lords fought one another to a bloody stalemate during the Thramas Crusade and, though the Lion eventually claimed victory, it left both Legions scattered and under-strength. Jago Sevatarion, First Captain of the Night Lords, languishes in a gaol cell in the heart of Ultramar. Far from a spent force, the Night Lords must consider where their loyalties lie, and what path they will take in the days and months to come.

a stand out story in an age of heroes.
Revisado: 10-09-21
I had to stop my bike ride to rate this book. Not only is this required for Jago Sevatarion's lore it is required to see shining nobility from a face of darkness. A noble blood angels or imperial fist is not special, they are all that way but there is something to be said about the nobility in the darker legions. it shines so much brighter than in the former. This is the rebirth of Sevatar into something greater than all his parts. The real batman of 40k gets his origin here. I only hope we see future stories about Sevatar and find out his whereabouts.ADB alludes to the Space Sharks 🦈 but that could just be flavor.
