Historia
I tried resisting him. I fought to ensure history wouldn’t repeat itself. In the end, Jackson and I knew he would win. He broke down my walls, obliterated every excuse, and made me love him against all odds. Then he shattered my heart into thousands of pieces. I can’t let him back in. It was hard enough surrendering my heart the first time. If he hurts me again, I’ll never survive. No matter what he thinks, we’re beholden to our past.

Couldn’t finish
Revisado: 07-22-23
I love a good sexy sex scene, but this was just porn. Honestly, the female lead was so unlikable, that the only reason I got book two was to see if Jackson survived. Couldn’t finish the book because I was too busy rolling my eyes.

Men suck. They break you. Leave you. Take everything until there's nothing left. And frankly, I'm done allowing them to make me feel insignificant. So, forget men. I'll just throw myself into my job, because at least that never fails me. Jackson has other plans, though. I refuse to be impressed by his perfect body, the cute dimple on his cheek, or the rugged stubble on his face. Jackson Cole can be resisted. But, I'm only fooling myself. He's going to wear me down. I can feel it. In the end he'll prove that once again, I'm no one's beloved.

Almost good
Revisado: 07-22-23
The performance was great. The story line could be good, but the female angst is over the top. The sex is more like soft porn. Also, the cliffhanger at the end was a blatant bid to get book 2. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend.

don’t need/want to know the authors political view
Revisado: 04-06-21
I’ve always loved this author. He’s good. And this story was no exception. However...I read fiction for entertainment and when the author inserts his political views into the story, it loses its entertainment value and becomes a political commentary. It will be a long time before I buy/read this authors work...maybe never again.

A thrill-seeking Harvard linguistics professor and an ultrasecret branch of the Catholic Church go head-to-head in a race to uncover the secrets of the lost city of Atlantis. The ruins of the technologically advanced, eerily enigmatic ancient civilization promise their discoverer fame, fortune, and power...but hold earth-shattering secrets about the origin of man. While world-famous linguist and archaeologist, Thomas Lourds, is shooting a film that dramatizes his flamboyant life and scientific achievements, satellites spot impossibly ancient ruins along the Spanish coast.

Spoiler Alert! The premise of the story was good. But...when you shouldn’t bring objects together, or the world will be destroyed....Don’t bring them together!! When it comes down to ONE person’s life or the lives of the world.... I’m pretty sure you should protect the world!!! This kind of thinking totally ruined anything good about the story for me.

I loved this book! The story was biblically accurate, and gave insight and detail to Joseph’s life. The only downside to the book was that it ended. I wanted to know more of Joseph’s life after Asenath.
I would recommend this book to everyone.

Almost 5 stars
Revisado: 10-20-17
I loved the story, even with some of the discrepancies. For instance, the bodies were burned in the woods, not buried in a muddy road. And the main character was an idiot. How could he not have figured out he was being betrayed sooner? The performance was wonderful, as always. Paul Michael is one of my favorites. He blends into the background, so to speak, in a way that enhances the experience without overshadowing the story.

Historia
In Hemlock Hollow, life isn't easy, but it is simple. Things in my community haven't changed much in over 300 years, since the time my Amish ancestors came to what is now the Green Republic. I milk my cow by hand, make fresh bread every morning, and hope to be courted by Jeremiah, a boy I've known since childhood. When my father falls ill, the English doctor says a hospital outside the wall can heal him. Jeremiah convinces me to go on rumspringa, to experience the outside world as an Englisher.

Historia
Brother Dust, a changeling born amidst a sandstorm, has seen it all before. He's watched as the heavy imperial boots have crushed dozens of planets. Watched as their drills pierce the core of a world, slowly killing it while the natives are kept docile, and compliant with the gifts and pleasures the empire brings them from the stars.

Confusing
Revisado: 09-18-17
I was very confused. There wasn't enough explanation as to how Brother Dust came to be. I felt like I had been dropped into the middle of a story. I needed more background. I enjoyed the premise of the story, but I felt that the characters were not fleshed out well. They were not consistent.
