Historia
J. Robert Oppenheimer was one of the iconic figures of the 20th century, a brilliant physicist who led the effort to build the atomic bomb but later confronted the moral consequences of scientific progress. When he proposed international controls over atomic materials, opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb, and criticized plans for a nuclear war, his ideas were anathema to powerful advocates of a massive nuclear buildup during the anti-Communist hysteria of the early 1950s.

not what you may think

amazing insight into the man himself Oppenheimer ....but this work is mostly about the proceedings to remove him from secret work... it is NOT simply an insite into the man but instead a look at privacy and the results of a canned court

Historia
In 1999, Clark Elliott suffered a concussion when his car was rear-ended. Overnight his life changed from that of a rising professor with a research career in artificial intelligence to a humbled man struggling to get through a single day. At times he couldn't walk across a room, or even name his five children. Doctors told him he would never fully recover. After eight years, the cognitive demands of his job, and of being a single parent, finally became more than he could manage.

Historia
Steven Rinella won a lottery to hunt for a wild buffalo in the Alaskan wilderness. One of only four hunters that year who succeeded in killing a buffalo, he carried the carcass down a snow-covered mountainside and floated it four miles down a white-water canyon while being trailed by grizzly bears and suffering from hypothermia. Rinella found himself contemplating his own place among the 14,000 years' worth of buffalo hunters in North America and the place of the buffalo in the American consciousness.

uniquely American essay on Bison and hunting
Revisado: 02-08-16
having first heard Steve Rinella on podcasts I recognized his pattern of speaking and story telling in his writing: always telling a engaging tale, while at the same time playing with in the fair chase of ideas through science - Rinnella runs his questioning mind all over the terrain of what the Bison IS AND what it means to each of separately. An icon, a misunderstood animal, giver of life to the first peoples, the back of a Nickle, an mfer of a tough quarry and an enduring part of our landscape. you will enjoy the story and learn a new appreciation and perhaps respect by time this vivid hunting story winds down. highly recommended!

Historia
The first crusade of 1096 unleashed a wave of impassioned, personally felt, deeply pious Christian fury that was expressed in a mass movement centered in France and spreading to other European kingdoms, including Flanders, German speaking principalities, and Italy. Master historian Harold Lamb tells the incredible story of how Pope Urban II fanned the sparks of Christian anger into a mighty conflagration of righteous indignation with his speech of 1095 in Clermont. The resulting armed clashes produced some of the most amazing stories you will ever hear.

campy python esq presentor - prima nocture real?
Revisado: 03-25-15
What did you like best about Iron Men and Saints? What did you like least?
the reader reminds me of a Monty Python sketch - hard to take seriously - reverb behind some passages simply amplifies this affect - and prima nocture is NOT real - they say it IS
What was one of the most memorable moments of Iron Men and Saints?
the stories of the first crusades as they raped and sacked so many European communities en route to the "HOLY land"..... to rid it of godless people...
Was Iron Men and Saints worth the listening time?
sure.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the story and the feeling of a tale around a campfire infuses this performance for me - not sure how factually accurate it is - of course I will have to follow up.
Its just campy....and I still enjoyed it

workbook?
Revisado: 12-30-14
What did you love best about Unbeatable Mind?
learning from the firehose of proven technical knowledge on mindset, goal setting and problem solving.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Narration has more than a few obvious fails - but it does not impact information transmission. This book is all about cramming info into a small space - it seems intended as a starting place to develop solid practices....
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
the swiss army knife of overcoming perceived limitations
Any additional comments?
Remarkable information in a distilled form - continually the book refers to a workbook that IS NOT part of available downloads that I can find.....which kinda sucks.
