Historia
America is in a war—an internal battle between good and evil with society crumbling at our feet. With every institution we once relied on now eroded, there is no one coming to help. Victor Marx believes politicians aren't going to save people, neither are law enforcement or public schools. Instead, he advocates for restoration of the family unit as God intended, led by fathers and a generation of dangerous gentlemen who believe without courage all other virtues fail.

Call to action!
Revisado: 08-10-24
If you walk away from this book unphased or unmotivated to become a dangerous gentleman, you are in bad bad shape as a man and more importantly, a man of God.

It turns out giving up your "right" to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, encouraging things you can do. It's a radical, provocative idea: We're not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own "righteous anger" is a myth. It is the number one problem in our societies today and, as Dallas Willard says, Christians have not been taught out of it. But what if Christians were the most unoffendable people on the planet?

No excuses

A thoroughly engaging yet convicting book. I enjoyed every aspect. Humor, intellect, and humanity set the table for the Christian believer to move into the discipleship process. Until we fully grasp what Christ modeled, we are merely Christian in name only.

Historia
Called a great book worthy of a great man, this definitive biography of the Commander in Chief of the Pacific Fleet in World War II is considered the best book ever written about Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Highly respected by both the civilian and naval communities, Nimitz was sometimes overshadowed by more colorful warriors in the Pacific such as MacArthur and Halsey. Potter's lively and authoritative style fleshes out Admiral Nimitz's personality to help listeners appreciate the contributions he made as the principle architect of Japan's defeat.

A Man Made for His Time
Revisado: 05-26-23
This must read biography addresses the captures beautifully the life of a man lived out courageously partnered with a wife and their children. It speaks to the incredible sacrifice and grit surrounding serving this nation pre through post WWII.
The narration was well paced (I listen to all books at 1.35 to 1.5 times speed). The story captures historical events with personal attachments to Chester Nimitz. It tastefully addresses human struggle and courage in the face of terrible odds. It also addresses the better elements of a Navy Line Officer, gifted with an engineers mind, a quick wit and humor, a strategic intellect, all wrapped with humanity.
Chester Nimitz is a national hero!

Historia
When veteran war reporter Benjamin Hall woke up in Kyiv on the morning of March 14, 2022, he had no idea that, within hours, Russian bombs would nearly end his life. As a journalist for Fox News, Hall had worked in dangerous war zones like Syria and Afghanistan, but with three young daughters at home, life on the edge was supposed to be a thing of the past. Yet when Russia viciously attacked Ukraine in February 2022, Hall quickly volunteered to go. A few weeks later, while on assignment, Hall and his crew were blown up in a Russian strike.
