Historia
It was never supposed to be this close. And of course she was supposed to win. How Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election to Donald Trump is the tragic story of a sure thing gone off the rails. For every Comey revelation or hindsight acknowledgment about the electorate, no explanation of defeat can begin with anything other than the core problem of Hillary's campaign - the candidate herself.

Straightforward, linear narrative from beginning of Hillary's 2016 to her crushing defeat to Donald Trump.

Historia
American Maelstrom captures the full drama of the watershed election of 1968, establishing this year as the hinge between the decline of political liberalism, the ascendancy of conservative populism, and the rise of anti-government attitudes that continue to dominate the nation's political discourse. This sweeping and immersive book, equal parts compelling analysis and thrilling narrative, takes us to the very source of our modern politics of division.

Breezy, well-written political history

A great listen, loved the narration and the exploration into the background and motivation that drove the candidates in 1968.

Historia
World War II endures in the popular imagination as a heroic struggle between good and evil, with villainous Hitler driving its events. But Hitler was not in power when the conflict erupted in Asia. His armies did not fight in multiple theaters, his empire did not span the Eurasian continent, and he did not inherit any of the spoils of war. That central role belonged to Joseph Stalin. Drawing on ambitious new research in Soviet, European, and US archives, Stalin’s War revolutionizes our understanding of this global conflict by moving its epicenter to the east.

Disturbing, and well-researched.

Fantastic, breezy (as breezy can be regarding such a topic) exploration into whether Stalin was the driving force compared to Hitler in setting Europe up for war. Have listened to it once already (narration keeps the pace well) and am two hours away from finishing my second listen. While the book is understandably about the Voj, being an American, the insights into how he played FDR like a fiddle were eye-opening and very depressing. If you ever doubted that FDR was a stooge for Stalin this book should clear up any mistaken notion that he wasn't. Had he not died in 1945 he'd have sold out the entire world to Josef. Learn within about FDR confidante Harry Hopkins, a Stalin stooge; the capture of the Doolittle Raiders by the Soviets to placate the Japanese; how FDR's administration favored the Soviets over the Brits in lend-lease; how FDR downplayed the Soviet's Katyn Massacre by lying to Polish-Americans about the murders of 20,000 Poles, and more.
I sought out criticism of this book wherever I could find it, to ensure that I wasn't merely believing everything the author said. I found one single possible blemish, pointed out by an author who wrote a book calling Stalin a 'man of peace' (!), that McMeekin may have quoted a speech by Stalin that he didn't actually give. That's it.
What amazing research and thorough sourcing by the author. A must-read!

Historia
In 2009, Mark R. Levin galvanized conservatives with his unforgettable manifesto Liberty and Tyranny, by providing a philosophical, historical, and practical framework for halting the liberal assault on Constitution-based values. That book was about standing at the precipice of progressivism’s threat to our freedom, and now, over a decade later, we’re fully over that precipice and paying the price. In American Marxism, Levin explains how the core elements of Marxist ideology are now pervasive in American society and culture.

Great book.

Narrator was ASMR-worthy, but this was nonetheless a great exploration into government, blm, antifa, etc.
