Historia
After forming a coalition of human resistance against the enemy invasion, Dalinar Kholin and his Knights Radiant have spent a year fighting a protracted, brutal war. Neither side has gained an advantage, and the threat of a betrayal by Dalinar’s crafty ally Taravangian looms over every strategic move. Now, as new technological discoveries by Navani Kholin’s scholars begin to change the face of the war, the enemy prepares a bold and dangerous operation. The arms race that follows will challenge the very core of the Radiant ideals.

A lot of time and little progress
Revisado: 12-07-20
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the series. I was pining for this book but it's a bit of a disappointment. Without giving away too much, some of my favorite story lines and characters take a back seat or disappear all together for a rehash a lot of old backstories that seems, unimportant, redundant or should have been put to bed in previous editions. We get it, They all have shady past, internal struggles and did some bad sh*t. Move along. Also, can we get rid of Navani Kholin? We spent a lot of time with this character and I still don't care about her. Here's a plot twist to consider. Have Navani move on to rule shadesmar and get "involved" with the nightwatcher. Her boon and curse will be that she's realized she's a lesbian. The boon is she loves the nightwatcher and her curse is she has to come out and hurt Dalinar's feeling, Then, just when we think Dalinar would disappear back in the bottle, as fate would have it, he and Kaladin realize they have more in common then an addiction to storm light, deep anguish and superior combat abilities.

Historia
In 1984, at the age of 20, Duff McKagan left his native Seattle - partly to pursue music, but mainly to get away from a host of heroin overdoses then-decimating his closest group of friends in the local punk scene. In LA only a few weeks and still living in his car, he answered a want ad for a bass player placed by someone who identified himself only as "Slash." Soon after, the most dangerous band in the world was born. Guns N' Roses went on to sell more than 100 million albums worldwide.

Brilliant!!!!!!
Revisado: 03-11-14
What made the experience of listening to Words of Radiance the most enjoyable?
With an author like Sanderson its easy to take it for granted how difficult it is to write such a complex story with so many deep characters and dialogue that is not strained and obvious in its mission to build or fill in story line gaps . The many moving, and invented parts of this story work perfectly like a clock for another dimension. Some parts are predictable and just before you get cocky about it, you're swept up in a pleasant roller coaster of surprise. i found myself immediately invested in the characters and can't wait to see where and what life brings to them in this world of turmoil. If you make a movie, I want to play Wit. Oh and nice cover on the bonding of shard blades;) barely noticed.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Wit. He's ambiguous. you want him to be a good guy and he projects himself a little more than a fool but you know anyone that brash is dangerous. Love him one minute frustrated the next, his complex role is well written and i can't wait for that trap to be sprung.
Which scene was your favorite?
too many great scenes
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
yes. several deep moment of self discovery.
Any additional comments?
I banged through this audio book in a couple of days. i could not stop. Very well performed.

Historia
It is not long before the survivors, outlaws, renegades, and carrion eaters start to gather, picking over the bones of the dead and fighting for the spoils of the soon-to-be dead. Now in the Seven Kingdoms, as the human crows assemble over a banquet of ashes, daring new plots and dangerous new alliances are formed, while surprising faces, some familiar, others only just appearing, are seen emerging from an ominous twilight of past struggles and chaos to take up the challenges ahead.

Wow that was painful!
Revisado: 03-13-10
I suffered through this marathon of bordom waiting for it to get better but it doesn't. I thought for sure it would because of what the "critics" wrote but maybe the book had pages the audio book skipped. Those pages may have contained a plot, story, climax, etc.
I also agree with the other listeners who did not like it. The narrator was monotone and I had to learn the characters again.
To be fair to the narrator the story was a lot of boring, dull, filler that could have been condenced into half the pages.

I'm enjoying it but it's trying my patients
Revisado: 02-10-10
Some of the story and characters go into what appears to be long pointless journeys. I'm trying to be patient but its a bit slow. Hopefully it will come together in the next book.
