I did enjoy the book overall, the performances were very very good, and I will undoubtedly listen to the next book when it comes out, but some aspects of it were.... not my favorite.
The death of Sif (I believe that's her name, hard to tell with only listening) was unnecessary, especially when she just gets replaced a few chapters later with, not only an equally powerful and rare mountain troll, but one that by description looks exactly like her. That is a death that has no real consequences other than making the Main Character, not only mad, but a lot less likeable.

Back to the wild and wonderful world of Celestine!

MINOR SPOILERS:
While I do miss Tess Irondale's voice when it came to the characters that she had voiced before, the new crew are fantastic and it is definitely helpful to have a male voice actor for the male characters.
The story so far is definitely a different style to the adventures of "The Boss", I am happy with how it is going so far and look forward to continuing on to the next book!

This book is better than it has any right to be.

Of the 3 so far that I have listened to, this one has been my favorite. There are times where I disliked the main character, but there are parts that totally redeem him and more. Everything else has been phenomenal.

Absolutely Recommend!

Overall, absolutely amazing! The narration is close to flawless, with only a few minor issues with a female voice doing the male characters, but that is to be expected. There are a few moments where the story is a little over the line of the unbelievable, but then again, it is a monster girl harem fantasy. If you are wanting realism, you wouldn't be here. These moments are absolutely made up for with the rest of it with some genuinely moving moments. I'm looking forward to listening to the next book in the series!
