Historia
Lola Sexton is the writer behind Sex Says, a successful relationship column at the San Francisco Times. She's a pro at advising others on their love lives, but if there's one thing she isn't in the market for, it's love. Reed Luca is a wanderer and a jack of all trades. He doesn't believe happiness comes from a nine-to-five job, or that success is delivered through a paycheck. But opportunity often finds its way to those who aren't looking.

Least Entertaining
Revisado: 07-07-24
Personally, I was not fond of this book/story. Compared to the others (and yes I’ve read all the others prior to this one), it was very lackluster. The characters were very immature, I felt like I was listening to a story about 19 year olds, which is just creepy. Not only that, but Reeds character was a smoker! Notice how all the other male characters have great jaw lines, impeccable hair and clothing, the eyes, and they all SMELL good? Reed had nice eyes, and aside from the other characters mentioning how good he looks, it didn’t really paint the picture for me. A few times I wanted to just quit, put the book away and move on, but I had to give it a fair shot. Let me save you time and tell ya, you can skip this one.

Historia
Eleanor Murray is tired. Tired of going on awkward dates. Tired of meeting men who just aren’t that into her. Tired of being set up on blind dates by her well-meaning friends. She is a believer of true love, of finding that happily ever after, and she wants it. She deserves it. But at the rate she’s going, she’s pretty sure it’s never going to happen. Until a friend creates a profile for Eleanor on a new dating app. At first, she’s reluctant. But then she makes a connection on Rate a Date, and this gorgeous, confident guy almost seems too good to be true....

Least favorite of the series
Revisado: 04-02-23
This book was very steamy, where as the other books took the time to build up the tension between the two characters, these just go right at it. The relationship seems empty, just about sex, and Eleanor was being a completely “bad friend”!
Also, the male characters voice was hard to not picture someone in their 50’s, dating a 20 something year old. It was just off putting when the romance scenes where read by the male.

Historia
I wanted to be on camera. I never wanted this. But when an intriguing stranger steps into my life, everything changes. For the first time in so long, I feel alive—cherished and adored. But as our stolen glances and secret smiles turn into shared nights and hidden passion, I know it’s only a matter of time before we fall apart. Because he has no idea what I do for a living, and he works with my boss. Now all my secrets are threatening to expose my deepest shame and ruin so much more than the façade I’ve fought to maintain.

I second “the one voice”
Revisado: 02-23-23
The story was good, but the person narrating Jensen was so distracting. Not sure why when he narrates his thoughts he has no accent, and then when he narrates speaking to someone it comes out (and not well). It’s sounds like two completely different people narrating in the first person. Personally, I think it takes away from the story, makes you not believe the character you’re listening to.

I am the type of woman who always plays it safe. In my professional life as a public relations "fixer", and in my personal life, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Really, who needs the wild highs and the I-want-to-die-because-he-left-me lows of a relationship? At least, that's what I thought...until I met HIM. Damian No-Last-Name-Given is sexy as sin, and I'd developed some kind of weird, instant attraction to him the moment he settled his chiseled body next to mine on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

A true romance
Revisado: 03-25-22
This was sweet and very romantic. The author really developed these characters in a way that you believed how much they cared for one another. However, personally I think the female character dwelled too much on her appearance. Her constant insecurity was annoying, and could have been part of her character without it being in every one of her thoughts throughout the whole book. Other than that, this was a good read and makes you want to grab the next book.

Riley Kennedy’s emails keep getting crossed with her male colleague, Kennedy Riley. The infuriating man forwards them along with his annoying commentary and unsolicited advice. At least she never has to see him in person, since they work in different locations…until they come face to face at the office holiday party.

Good book, narration underwhelming
Revisado: 01-01-20
This was a good book, easy to listen to, romantic, and fun. It was really entertaining, a great story that followed all the rules of romance. Yet, I feel as though I would have enjoyed this better if I had just read it rather than listened to it. I felt that the narrators, though they may read other books well, were not suitable for this book. The woman seemed very “one note” even when she tried to change the inflections in her voice. The male character was supposed to be in his late twenties, early thirties and the man narrating sounds a lot older (maybe fifties). Normally this wouldn’t matter, but when it comes to listening to the man expressing his characters sexual feelings for the 27yr old female character in an older voice, it just comes off creepy! I couldn’t fully get into this book because I just kept imagining a 50 year old guy trying to get with a young chick, it almost ruined it for me. I recommend this read but just be aware that picking up the book to read it yourself may be better.
