Historia
Since A-List actress and Hollywood's sweetheart Wren Acker came out, not only is she at the top of the acting world; she's also crush number one for her queer fanbase. Loving life, loving her job, loving her cat-everything is fantastic. Except that lack of any kind of private life. When a car accident brings her to the ER, the bottom falls out of her world when she realizes that reserved Doctor Taylor, her physician, is Madison Taylor from camp way back when she was a kid. And boy, does Madison still hold a well-earned grudge for how that all ended.

Well written!
Revisado: 04-11-25
I've never read/listened to a story by this author before. I was happily surprised. It was very well written. I will definitely be reading more of her works.
Because of arthritis in my hands, I now listen to the books rather than read them in physical format. I was surprised at how good this was. I highly recommend this story. One of the interesting things about this story is it leaves you with hope for the real world.
The reader of the story did a good job as well. Brava to both of them.

Especially liked last story.
And when Abby Craden lowers the pitch of her voice, it's especially sexy.

What a lovely story
Revisado: 03-07-25
Full of family love. Family support. Upbeat though melancholy sometimes.
The reader did a good job with all the voices.
I would like to read another book by this author and this reader.

Historia
Skilled surgeon Veronica Mallick runs her London hospital department like she runs her surgeries: with hawkish efficiency. Then her perfect world is turned upside down by the arrival of a new Head of Trauma. Cassie Taylor is a brash, no-nonsense army surgeon, fresh from the front lines, and trying to find her way in civilian life. She's all action and sharp edges, not too interested in rules. She's even less interested in bureaucracy, or playing nice with her uptight, paper-pushing colleague, Veronica.

Great slow burn
Revisado: 02-25-25
Although, as an American, it was sometimes difficult to distinguish the people speaking. I thought that I was used to British accents from the many British TV shows I've watched. So I'm not entirely sure whether it was my listening comprehension or the reader's skills that was the problem.
But I really enjoyed the story.

Worse yet, her quiet, managed life has been shattered by a series of incompetent assistants. And she's certain this Lily Smith creature isn't going to be any less a burden than the last assistant they sent her. Or the one before that. Or before that....

Great series but this one is full of tension
Revisado: 02-12-25
I did not like this book in the series as much as the others. I love the concept of these books, of the series. But this particular book had way too much tension throughout the book! Occasional tension is fine, but not when it overwhelms the whole thing.
I did like that characters from the other books were occasionally in this book. And I liked that Rue was a woodworker herself.

Fresh from a medal at her first Olympics, Stacey knows she can only get better and is firmly focused on the future, and totally not thinking about how she’s kind of a little in love with that sweet, ultra-supportive best friend....

Slow burn and very positive
Revisado: 01-25-25
I know very little about skiing, though I lived in Colorado and know many of the places they talk about.
I generally prefer stories about more mature women, but I think this one is pretty generic for that. It had some really good points about good relationships versus bad, and how even if you love someone you can make mistakes and you have to learn how to make a stronger, happier relationship.
I think I have enjoyed every E. J. Noyes story I have read and I keep coming back for more. I can't wait to read the one that proceeds this!

Historia
In her delightful and moving memoir, Sissy Spacek writes about her idyllic, barefoot childhood in a small East Texas town, with the clarity and wisdom that comes from never losing sight of her roots. Descended from industrious Czech immigrants and threadbare southern gentility, she grew up a tomboy, tagging along with two older brothers and absorbing grace and grit from her remarkable parents, who taught her that she could do anything.

Wasn't sure I'd like a story about teenagers, but I did!
Revisado: 11-12-24
I'm old enough to be a grandmother, though I'm not one. So I wasn't sure whether I would like a story about teenagers. It's hard enough for me to get into stories about 22-year-olds. But this story was really fun, with good hearted characters and lots of love. Characters' scars were mostly healed. All the current characters were kind. I recommend this story to people of all ages. There's a lot of stress in my life right now, some good, and some difficult. But this book was nice and it also helped relieve some of my own stress. So my thanks to the author.
