Everything that goes wrong is because she cannot stop EXPLAINING EVERYTHING!!! Geez I don’t care who she loves, why does that take up 8 hours of a 12 hour book?!?! When you are in dire circumstances do you really stop everything to explain the whole backstory? No…the answer is no, when it’s an emergency the fight if flight response SHOULD shut off everything else. Survive, escape, s. SURVIVE. Not explain the rest of us are literally 30 years into this series, let the newbies catch up on their own time, or as I’ve said before Ms Hamilton should just write the Poly self help book the one time and let us all off the hook

Wish some dates were given

Sometimes I wish authors would give a few more dates for. Timeline, I had to look up when the first publication was done then it made much more sense. I wanted to shout many times 'doesnt anyone have a phone?!?’ So the fact that it’s 25 years old makes a bit more sense. But I love his writing and the narration.

It’s a fun series, I’m glad she has learned that she has much to learn but the phrase ‘ya feel me’ could be used about 50x less than it is.

Great narration

The story of funny, and the narrator is excellent. I was frustrated that at no point does she attempt to learn about her new skill only continues with assumptions that are the cause of the problems she encounters. Also, death is not good or bad, death just is. We will all experience it.

I finished it, thats the best I can say. Completely unlikable main character, IMO the key to a nosy parker of a cozy mystery is that she, or he must at least be charming and likable, but this person was just awful, I mean I wanted to shoot her myself. And the narration was bad to mediocre, horrible inflections, strange, monotone cadence at times, just not good.

Becoming tiresome

I love a good ‘Sherlock Holmes’ story, but the stupidity of the men around Joanna and her patronizing leading them to the clues is getting, well as I said in the title, tiresome. Someone that smart wouldn’t be with someone they had to lead by the nose all the time

And thats the best I can say. I January Lavoie is great as usual, but the story was confusing. It took too long to get to why some random couple would adopt three godchildren and the one thing that I really got is that these three women hate white people that comes through loud and clear, which state is super uncomfortable to read.

I wasn’t wrong about DQ

I worried that Mr Quaid’s voice would too distracting and distinctive to be able to suspend my disbelief and be in the characters and I was not wrong. I isn’t a great voice actor, his attempts to ‘be another character’ failed. Not a great choice. As to the story, a bit preachy and predictable but also not fully believable. Would not recommend
