Historia
In Saved from What?, Dr. R.C. Sproul reveals that the greatest danger we face is the holy wrath of God against our sin. But the glory of the gospel is that the One from whom we need to be saved is the very One who saves us. As we better understand the severity of our sin and the sufficiency of Christ’s atonement, the truth of God’s grace will deepen our worship and drive us to make his salvation known.

The appreciation of the magnitude of this question is the elephant in the room. Dietrich Bonhoeffer pointed out that what costs God much cannot cost us little.

Historia
We don’t talk a lot about sin these days. But maybe we should. The Puritans sure did - because they understood sin’s deceptive power and wanted to root it out of their lives. Shouldn’t we want the same? Though many books have been written on the “doctrine of sin”, few are as practical and applicable as this one. In Knowing Sin, Mark Jones puts his expertise in the Puritans to work by distilling the vast wisdom of our Christian forebears into a single volume that summarizes their thought on this vital subject.

One of the best studies on the doctrine of sin. An essential theology resource. Should be required reading in all discipleship classes.

Historia
What does real, saving faith actually entail? The New Testament repeatedly emphasizes the need for repentance from sin and accompanying good works as evidence of true belief. However, as theologian Wayne Grudem argues in this book, the teachings of the Free Grace movement - which deny that good works need to be present in the life of the justified Christian - undermine the Bible's teaching regarding saving faith.

Respectful and careful critique
Revisado: 09-23-24
Wayne grudem wrote this on the edge of a razor blade. People can be so hypersensitive these days and this stuff is so personal that he had to be very careful to be fair and truthful. I thought he did a great job. He lit the proverbial cigarette in a dynamite factory without everything going up in flames.
