Decent
Revisado: 02-19-24
It read like the movie Soldier with Lurt Russel. Decent action, good narrator, semi unsatisfactory ending. I would read book 2 though. It had just enough good to continue.

Mispronunciations abound... it was a little distracting. Good story but a little paint by the numbers. Worth the listen just be prepared to be distracte by the word Hermes and others.

What did you like best about this story?
The story has some signs of when it was written, but other than that it's a great book. It's a good stand alone story with a definitive ending.

Historia
In this endlessly fascinating book, New Yorker columnist James Surowiecki explores a deceptively simple idea that has profound implications: large groups of people are smarter than an elite few, no matter how brilliant. Groups are better at solving problems, fostering innovation, coming to wise decisions, even predicting the future.

Would you listen to The Wisdom of Crowds again? Why?
I intend to listen to this book again because I source it often at work. It's a good and easy read that highlights the phenomenon of group intelligence. It would have been a 5 if it would address the new threat that too much unfiltered information poses to this; i.e. the internet + anyone with a computer can post something = misinformed public.

Historia
When LA’s vampires, witches, and werewolves make a mess, they call Scarlett Bernard to clean it up. Her ability as a null erases all magical traces from anything—or anyone—that comes within ten feet of her, and keeps humans in the dark about the city’s paranormal activity. One night when she’s called to a grisly crime scene, Scarlett is spied by the all-too-human LAPD cop Jesse Cruz, who strikes up a deal with her: he’ll keep quiet about the supernatural underworld if she helps him crack the case.

Good read with a few plot holes....
Revisado: 01-07-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I would recommend this book but there are a few parts that will have you screaming at your audio device. It's a good first outing for the author. I would have given it a 3.5 if possible but it leaned more 3 than 4.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
The author gave allot more closure than most books but the so-call reveal that probably will be the device for the next book was predictable to me.
Which character – as performed by Amy McFadden – was your favorite?
My favorite characters were detective Cruz and Molly the roommate.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
I would go see it.
