Historia
This is the second volume in a best-selling series of true stories from "[a]n extraordinary landscape populated with befuddled bears, hormonally-crazed elk, homicidal wild boars, hopelessly timid wolves, and nine million tourists, some of whom are clueless." In Kim DeLozier's world, when sedated wild black bears wake up unexpectedly in the back seat of a helicopter in mid-flight, or in his car as he's driving down the highway, or in his office while he's talking on the phone, it's just another day in the park.

Good story. Great narrator. And, a dog. All good stories have a dog. The best ones have all three.

Historia
Raine Stockton and her high-spirited, big-hearted golden retriever, Cisco, are accustomed to being heroes wherever they go. But there's a new dog in town, and Raine and Cisco find themselves upstaged by a flashy K-9 addition to the sheriff's department. Nike and her handler, Jolene, are part of a new government-funded program. Though Raine admires Nike's talent almost as much as she resents Jolene's arrogance, she wonders why the Department of Homeland Security would send such an expensive gift to their sleepy Smoky Mountain community.

Love it
Revisado: 01-10-13
Would you listen to Iron Gray Sea again? Why?
Yes. Love the narrator and I'm a sucker for alternate reality books.
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoyed the flow of the story and how the narrator handles multiple characters. I've heard all of the other books in the series and have come to feel as if the characters are old friends. I particularly love his portrayal of Silva..the lovable rogue of the bunch.
Have you listened to any of William Dufris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I plan to.

Slow down....
Revisado: 05-29-11
This book would have been much more enjoyable if the narrator didn't read at the speed of light without seeming to have to take a breath. The Irish brogue is tolerable but with little inflection or pause, it's hard to follow the dialogue at times. Plus, the narrator doesn't have a wide range for female voices so most are difficult to distinguish.
I'm a fan of Nora Roberts and I'm sure the book would be a good read, but this particular narration is not one of my favorites.
