Historia
In 1944, 16-year-old Edith Eger was sent to Auschwitz. There she endured unimaginable experiences, including being made to dance for the infamous Josef Mengele. Over the coming months, Edith's bravery helped her sister to survive and led to her bunkmates rescuing her during a death march. When their camp was finally liberated, Edith was pulled from a pile of bodies, barely alive. In The Choice, Dr Edith Eger shares her experience of the Holocaust and the remarkable stories of those she has helped since.

Incredible read.
Revisado: 07-17-19
This is one of THE best books I have read in ages. It's not just a biography of survival, it really gives an incredible perspective on trauma, it's impacts and how she personally walked through her own triggers with such courage. Because she is a clinical psychologist she is also able to articulate how our minds are our prisons.
I am SO glad I read it.

Interesting insight.
Revisado: 09-22-18
It's an interesting insight as to how Lianne regards her writing. One question was 'why are people getting more into audio books'.
Me personally is because I love getting lost in the story, and it helps me read more books because I am a very slow reader of reading from paper. Audio books opened up a whole new world and especially for this amazingly gifted writer.

Brene Brown speaks to my heart on every level.
This book is one of her best to date (though I love them all for different reasons)
Without question her narrating this too, really helps to solidify the message she is trying to convey.
I love the stories she uses to emphasise the message.
An all round great purchase.

Revisado: 05-11-17
It is a great list of Codependent behaviour. Clear & concise, though would be more appropriate to get it in book form rather than as an audiobook.
It's really more characteristics & questions to answer at the end of the book. Hence needing it as a visual product rather than verbal.

Authentic & funny.
Revisado: 09-13-16
This has to be one of the best audio books I have read it quite a while. Amy is raw, funny at times, honest & authentic. I absolutely love how she owns her sexuality, SO refreshing coming from a women where we are slated or shamed for actually wanting or liking it.
I love how she is vulnerable at times too. For someone who is relatively young she is wise beyond her years.
Being able to hear her read it also gave it more of an impact for me. Especially the "fuck you" intonation.
Thank you Amy for your honesty & humour.

Hugh and Margaret Darcy are raising their family in Sydney amid the brothels, grog shops and run-down boarding houses of Surry Hills, where money is scarce and life is not easy. Filled with beautifully drawn characters that will make you laugh as much as cry, this Australian classic will take you straight back to the colourful slums of Sydney with convincing depth, careful detail and great heart.

This was one of THE best Narrators I have listened to. The way she is able to give different accents & tones to each character only added to a wonderfully written book.
It's my first entry into Ruth Parks novels but not my last.
A great audible book choice all round.
