Would you consider the audio edition of Undeniable to be better than the print version?

I didn't read the print version, so I can't really make a comparison.

What did you like best about this story?

Nye lays out overwhelming evidence from all aspects of science, not just biology. Learning, for instance, that the reason we are able to create vaccines by studying how they interact with other species has to do with the similarity of our DNA and because we have a distant ancestor was fascinating and mind blowing.

What about Bill Nye’s performance did you like?

Bill Nye's reading of his own book is great. Nye has a natural confidence that comes through in his voice over, and you can hear his passion for the material in his voice. He takes an academic tone, like sitting in a classroom while he outlines the case for evolution, but it never comes across as boring or preachy.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

An Intelligently Designed Film About Evolution

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you're a fan of Star Trek, Babylon 5, Firefely, etc., this is a great book for you.

What other book might you compare Redshirts to and why?

Anything in the Star Trek series, but it's closer in kind to Galaxy Quest.

Which character – as performed by Wil Wheaton – was your favorite?

Krazinsky. You can hear what a jerk the guy is from Wheaton's performance, and you really get the personality of the character.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed quite a bit, and there were some very poignant moments that had me tearing up for sure.

Any additional comments?

Wil Wheaton has become my favourite performer for audiobooks. He led me to Ready Player One, and now to Redshirts. I'm twice as likely to pick up a book he is the reader on than any other audiobook.

Abridged version is aweful

Would you try another book from Peter David and/or John de Lancie?

Why on earth is this abridged? I read the book years ago and loved how it interwove multiple storylines and aspects from both classic Trek and the Next Generation. When I saw John de Lancie narrating, I thought it would be fun to listen to the Audible performance. I didn't see the "Abridged" notation on the item, and only upon listening did I realize that there was a problem. The abridged version only tells a small fraction of the story, and the missing pieces are so great as to render the story line incomprehensible. There's no reason to abridge this either. The original book isn't very large, and there's certainly nothing controversial about the subject matter. I can't imagine what the impetus was. Maybe deLancie's fee was too high? But then why use him as the narrator?

Do yourself a favour and stay away.

How to Talk to Anyone Audiolibro Por Leil Lowndes arte de portada

Excellent advice

I really enjoyed this book. The advice is delivered in a very clear and entertaining manner. The author reads her own work, and you can hear her passion for the material in her voice. Listening to her made otherwise dull material sound exciting and fun. The tips really work well, and have produced noticeable results in both my personal and professional life. I highly recommend this book.

Not what I thought it would be

I was expecting this to be stories of the authors experiences learning languages and the unique differences found in them. I was expecting anecdotes, amusing stories, and similar. Instead, I got an introductory primer on how to begin studying a new language.

The author's tips were good, but ultimately, they weren't anything that I hadn't heard in the first few classes of Spanish 101. If I were a freshman starting from scratch, this book would have been useful. It makes an excellent primer for someone who has never taken a language class and plans to study on their own. If you have any experience beyond that or are already taking language lessons, I'd pass this one by.
