Historia
On June 6, 1761, the world paused to observe a momentous occasion: the first transit of Venus between the earth and the sun in more than a century. Through that observation, astronomers could calculate the size of the solar system - but only if they could compile data from many different points of the globe, all recorded during the short period of the transit. Fortunately, transits of Venus occur in pairs: eight years later, the scientists would have another opportunity to succeed.

Excellent history that is written well. Voice is perfect for the story. Author writes in a mesmerizing way that pulls you into the moment. Highly recommend!

Historia
What's the first thing many women do when they go home? Make a dash for the white wine in the refrigerator. In Her Best-Kept Secret, journalist Gabrielle Glaser uncovers this hidden-in-plain-sight drinking epidemic - but doesn't cause you to recoil in alarm. She is the first to document that American women are drinking more often than ever and in ever-larger quantities. And she is the first to show that contrary to the impression fostered by reality shows and Gossip Girl, young women alone are not driving these statistics - their moms and grandmothers are, too.

Great Book, Bad Narrator
Revisado: 04-10-16
The book is excellent but the person reading it is terribly miscast. The voice sounds pretentious and judgmental, almost the exact-opposite of what you need for a book about women and alcoholism. This narrator is best suited for a 19th-century romance novel, not a serious book that will be heard by sensitive, vulnerable people.
