A Dark Tale
Revisado: 04-23-25
I downloaded this due to it being free. It was well done by the cast. A cast is always more enjoyable, but this was a dark dark tale.

Historia
Mr. Shaitana is famous as a flamboyant party host. Nevertheless, he is a man of whom everybody is a little afraid. So when he boasts to Hercule Poirot that he considers murder an art form, the detective has some reservations about accepting a party invitation to view Shaitana's "private collection". Indeed, what begins as an absorbing evening of bridge is to turn into a more dangerous game altogether.

I really wish I knew how to play thus game as i think I would have had a different understanding. I enjoyed the performance, but it was a little convoluted.

Really good with a twist
Revisado: 04-06-25
I liked the narrator and the way it was read. The distinct voices were really good. I did not guess the ending. Annie and I were surprised 😮. I guess we never know what is inside of others or ourselves in particular situations.

Whilst organising a mock murder hunt for the village fete hosted by Sir George and Lady Stubbs, a feeling of dread settles on the famous crime novelist Adriane Oliver. Call it instinct, but it's a feeling she just can't explain...or get away from. In desperation she summons her old friend, Hercule Poirot - and her instincts are soon proved correct when the "pretend" murder victim is discovered playing the scene for real, a rope wrapped tightly around her neck.

Really like Agatha stories that have a twist or two. All the characters were likeable and narrated well.

Neve and her young daughter Bex travel among the wreckage speaking to those left behind and surviving, against all odds. Neve records everything for history, and in the hopes of locating a clue as to where the dragons came from and how one might stop them.

I really enjoyed this story. So happy it popped up for me to check out. I was hooked within the first paragraph. The story was told well and performed well. Some questions were not answered, but isn't that life.

I did like the fact that it was quick, but I did miss the longer format stories. I didn't care for the Poirot voice as it didn't fully gel with what I am use to hearing.

great movie and book
Revisado: 03-22-25
I really liked the detail provided by the book. I did not like most of the voices. I think the actor was just too young to pull off a believable older Spock and pike voice. The Dr voice was grating to my ears.

I can't compare it to the movie as it was many years since seeing it in the theater, but I really enjoyed this book. The voices were good and engaging. No complaints or regrets for my purchase. I chuckle at the space probe and wonder if this could actually happen.

I enjoyed the story. The historical back story was key. I wish Leonard had voiced Spock. I didn't think the voices were very good. Kirk came close with the pauses, but not quite.

A window is but a piece of glass through which we view the world outside. It is not meant to distort. It is not intended to do anything but show us things as they are. At Oxford, though, there is a very particular window that reveals a very particular view. It is a view that defies all laws of nature and science. And when a detective is called in to investigate, he is startled to find that view opens a window into his own life–and a mystery he has never been able to solve.
