Historia
Titus Briggs is an Earth Defense soldier, a grunt, a decorated war hero—it's all he's ever known. So when a career-ending injury leaves him lying in a hospital bed, missing both legs, he struggles to accept his new reality. He can no longer walk, which means he can no longer fight. That is until a mysterious colonel arrives and offers Titus the opportunity to step into a new kind of war, a new kind of fight. To become a new kind of soldier. Mobile Combat Suits—MOCOMS—represent the next stage in human warfare. They enable soldiers to fight like never before.

No good alien villain with dialog - just bots.
Revisado: 04-29-25
Your story and hero is only as good as the villain. Some typical military action scenes. Forgettable B characters, even the Hot Wheels - the hero.

Historia
Colonel Butler has paid his dues and just wants to enjoy his retirement on a remote planet. But the galaxy has had other plans. He has been roped into searching for a politician’s missing son and an industry magnate’s missing daughter. He has been kidnapped, violated numerous laws, and caused the destruction of colonial facilities. He’s famous—or infamous, depending on who you ask—praised and reviled in equal measure across the galaxy for his exploits.

Slow mystery to start, builds, reveals, action.
Revisado: 10-22-24
Slow mystery to start, builds, reveals, action. Likeable characters, more like a space western / murder mystery. I like the negotiating scenes with internal tips on lying, withholding info, and bluffing. Overall, good characters but a bit short run time.

Historia
After the explosive events surrounding MPF6's destruction on Karkin Four, Wic and his team of daredevil operators join forces with the rebel force known as the Blood Guard. While the Phantoms desire to help relocate human refugees to safer worlds, they're forced to confront a more pressing objective: cut off the head of the beast and keep the Androchidan Empire from enslaving another world. Wic is immediately flung into the heat of battle, driven by retaliation, a need for justice, and the need to send a message to all other deviant species who'd wish to take advantage of the innocent.

Listened to other 4 books, couldn't finish it.
Revisado: 09-16-24
This is the end of the series for me, as I barely got through #3 - though I liked books 1 and 2 - 5 stars despite the story line being over the top rescuing 100,000 humans - why not 100 to make the logistics believable? Also, the Gen Z snowflake self helf tearful chant for the Marines "Earth was a Myth." was the last nail or bullet. Like the last book, there is a ton of useless boring talk, planning, descriptions, and little action or plot. I'm sick of the characters and repetitive dialog like "copy that." I find little development in the characters, lack of humor, twists, or compelling plot that many of the other great 5 star sci-fi series from JN Chaney and usually narrated by #1 RC Bray. I'm going back to those now.

Lots of talk and plans, rather than good action.
Revisado: 08-16-24
Normally, I really like these two authors with many 5 star reviews. However, there is way too much talking, planning, philosophy and history going on. Also, the scale of rescuing a million people (with real world logistics) is beyond belief and unneeded 1-5 thousand people wouldn't change the story at all except make it believable. They really need to get a good editor that can remove 1/4 of this and tighten it up. Show and don't tell. This is why Hollywood and TV shows either deliver on the action, romance, characters, and story, or they get cancelled. This does have some great characters and AI, but this book might be the end for me. Kind of when Skippy AI, betrayed his 'friends.' I didn't like the story line and never forgave the little beer can. I'll give them another chance with book 5.

In the heart of the South Pacific lies Point Nemo, the most desolate and remote place on Earth. At its core is a dead zone, devoid of life, where government agencies crash their obsolete satellites and space stations, confident they won't harm a soul. When the International Space Station suffers a catastrophic failure and plummets through the atmosphere, it's here that Mission Specialist Julie Rohr, an astrobiologist studying living space dust called xylem, finds herself marooned. Julie's only hope for rescue lies in the hands of her estranged father, Dr. Finn Maddern, a renowned mycologist.

Mystery becomes a 100% horror movie.
Revisado: 08-05-24
As long as you know it will become a normal horror movie, it's good more mystery than real fear (like Zombie books that gave me nightmares - Thus I stopped listening to Hell Divers too scary! Also, the super long climax and 20+ minutes of 2+ epilogues are a bit much (not bad, but long) - better editing or shorter writing, I'd give it 5 stars for what it is. I love Sci-Fi, not a big fan of horror - but Aliens did it perfectly.

His ship, the Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. Very Creative story and characters
Revisado: 07-11-24
Some Missions are incredible and fun. Others have less action and are more narrative - but still good. Cooboo the giant dog is great fun talking and always hungry. I will say the narrator created one annoying voice - 1 high pitched alien Gomer Pyle like voice but many will get use to it. Overall Great fun and incredible bang for the buck!

Historia
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Slow Start 8 hours of no action & character intros
Revisado: 04-01-24
Outside of an opening car crash, the first 8 hours are the time transported characters being introduced and taught the basics of modern life in great detail - yawn. However, the rest of the book is a great ride, action, plot twists, with a cool ending. I read some other reviews like mine and stuck with it, glad I did, I'm getting the sequel now. I even sped up the playback speed to get through the 8 hours on Alexa.

The Merry Band of Pirates offered the bad guys a ceasefire. We won’t mess with them, if they don’t mess with us. Easy, right? No. The aliens chose to do things the hard way. So, the Pirates are racing around the galaxy to clean up the threat to Earth. The infant UN Navy has their own mission with the Alien Legion: Get humanity some allies in the fight. And the Ethics & Compliance Office might have to do something...ethical. Unless they can find a way around it.

Historia
Welcome to the darkest night of the Zulu Alpha, where every loyalty is tested, every moral calculus impossible, and every price paid too costly to be borne. The world's last nuclear supercarrier strike group and its exhausted Marine Raider guardians must now range from the coast of fallen America to an unavoidable date with destiny at the farthest northern point of Australia, to the enclosed and exploding death zone of the world's largest offshore oil field – knowing that everywhere, at all times, absolutely everything will be on the line.

Good action but a few of the dumbest scenes ever!
Revisado: 12-12-23
OK, Dumb scene Spoiler Alert. What idiot would dump a few $150 million dollar fighter jets (never to be made again due to the Zombie Apocalypse) in order to make room for a vertical potato farm? If you can live with a 2-3 ridiculous scenes like that, then you can enjoy the book. If they fixed these, I would give it 5 stars but they didn't.

Great Action Thriller - Book 1. Planning Action 2
Revisado: 12-05-23
The first book has great big action show pieces in the top 3 of my sci/fi military books. The 2nd book starts slowly with talk and planning but ends with a big action set piece. Characters / story are good - not great - but the action and detailed military tech makes up for it. I'm getting the next few in the series. I loved the San Francisco detailed location having been there.
