Historia
Many people today think the Bible, the most influential book in world history, is not only outdated but irrelevant, irrational, and even immoral. This explanation of the Book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, demonstrates clearly and powerfully that the opposite is true. The Bible remains profoundly relevant - both to the great issues of our day and to each individual life. It is the greatest moral guide and source of wisdom ever written.

The inauthentic dialects and constant changing of voices was distracting.
It would be better to just read in a normal voice.
Not my sort of book. I listened to it since I have spent many years at Pawley’s Island and the coastal area.
I’ve never heard that mixture of pretend southern accents.

Historia
Patric Gagne realized she made others uncomfortable before she started kindergarten. Something about her caused people to react in a way she didn’t understand. She suspected it was because she didn’t feel things the way other kids did. Emotions like fear, guilt, and empathy eluded her. For the most part, she felt nothing. And she didn’t like the way that “nothing” felt.

Historia
Jennette McCurdy was six years old when she had her first acting audition. Her mother’s dream was for her only daughter to become a star, and Jennette would do anything to make her mother happy. So she went along with what Mom called “calorie restriction." She endured extensive at-home makeovers while Mom chided, “Your eyelashes are invisible, okay? You think Dakota Fanning doesn’t tint hers?” She was even showered by Mom until age sixteen while sharing her diaries, email, and all her income. In I’m Glad My Mom Died, Jennette recounts all this in unflinching detail.

Mary Trump is the antithesis of her toxic family.
Revisado: 09-19-24
Mary shows us the path for overcoming the plight of being born into a family dominated by a tyrant. Her ability to finally accept her self-worth through decades of trying to understand her very existence with no support from her family gives hope to all of us who find ourselves being brought up in the presence of narcissistic sociopaths as the family “norm”!
She takes us through her journey of slowly emerging from the insidious darkness of her early existence into a role that places her in a spotlight she is just beginning to utilize for the benefit of our very democracy.
If we are to survive the demonic threat our nation is facing we will have to follow her footsteps in recognizing the danger and learning to extricate ourselves from it before it destroys us.
We must learn to love ourselves so that we can approach others with love and kindness.
Mary Trump has been through the fire and she is now sharing her journey so that we too can survive.

Historia
The Reckoning will examine America’s national trauma, rooted in our history but dramatically exacerbated by the impact of current events and the Trump administration’s corrupt and immoral policies. Our failure to acknowledge this trauma, let alone root it out, has allowed it to metastasize. Whether it manifests itself in rising levels of rage and hatred, or hopelessness and apathy, the stress of living in a country we no longer recognize has affected all of us. America is suffering from PTSD - a new leader alone cannot fix us.

Historia
In the first half of life, we are naturally preoccupied with establishing ourselves; climbing, achieving, and performing. But as we grow older and encounter challenges and mistakes, we need to see ourselves in a different and more life-giving way. This message of falling down - that is in fact moving upward - is the most resisted and counterintuitive of messages in the world's religions. Falling Upward offers a new paradigm for understanding one of the most profound of life's mysteries: how those who have fallen down are the only ones who understand "up".
