Good story, great performance

I give a book five stars if I find myself sitting around just listening to the story. if instead of calling my friends to hang out, playing video games, or watching Netflix I choose to sit and listen to an audio book then I will give it five stars. I give this one five stars. Add to it the hours of entertainment I get out of it and it's not only very entertaining but the cost benefit ratio is extremely high. Great audio book that I would highly recommend.

annoying and boring

Im not sure how this audio book got the ratings it did. I was excited to try it out but after about 3-1/2 hours in i had to abandon the title. Story is slow and obnoxious. The main characters ramblings are annoying as he tries to muddle through and reason out social interactions as if he were a seven year old. It didnt take long for that whole bit to get REALLY old and i found myself getting annoyed. Maybe a younger adult or teenage crowd would like this? I didnt care for it all, i have no idea how it got the ratings it did.

good series

This is for the set of three books that came as one big file. it was worth the purchase in so far as the story was entertaining to listen to while I did chores and what not. I wasn't in the edge of seat dying to know what happened next, but it was enjoyable to listen to. Solid amount of entertainment for the price (considering it's something like 40 hours of audio).

Quick summary: Good story, Good performance, finished it in about three days, found myself laying on my couch just listening to it. That should speaks volumes in and of itself.

I'm always a fan of RC Bray. His performances are consistently good from my experiences so far. I enjoyed the story very much. Before i purchased i read some comments complaining that it felt "preachy" at times. I didn't sense that at all. Considering the story is essentially about good vs evil from a judeo christian framework through the perspective of a sort of angel then of course there are going to be religious aspect and view points the character expresses. He is a sort of angel, duh. if I had any criticism it would just be that there is an instance toward the end that the character faces and seems to deal with it a little more easily thank i think is realistic given human nature and feelings. But that's pretty minor if that's the only gripe i can think of.

story about an entitled teenager

Didnt like the story at all. The main character is literally an entitled teenager with a subtle dash of an SJW attitude. If that's your thing, then by all means. If you would rather not listen to teenage whining then I would pass. I haven't listened to The Martian yet, but if it's ANYTHING like this then I will pass. i like most audio books as i tend to listen to them in the background while I'm doing things, so if the story is a little weak then it's not a huge deal. This story wasn't just weak, it was ANNOYING. I have yet to listen to a story where the main character was so incredibly obnoxious.

Good book/audio

The book explores the idea of simulation theory and posits (I feel) some subsequent questions and alternate interpretations that were interesting to explore and think about. Some of which I had not thought about until the author presented them. There is a religious element however 1) it's not preachy, it's the character struggling with his own beliefs and is enough to incorporate the religious perspective without it dominating or controlling the narrative of the overall story. the author isn't trying to convert anyone and it doesn't come off that way to me.

overall it's a good book and i enjoyed it. it starts off a little slow but by the time i hit the middle I was listening to it whenever i got the chance. that carried through to the end. I would reccomend.

entertaining book if you are/were into RPG

entertaining book if you are/were into RPG games. i enjoyed it and will be buying the next audiobook in the series. Has a few cringy/hammy moments but not too frequently. Not a life changing or otherwise 'deep' storyline or anything. Light and enjoyable to listen to while doing tasks and what not.

Something good to pass the time

Its an interesting idea for a book. the story is pretty good and the characters are interesting enough. it's definitely something fun to listen to while taking care is take/chores. would call it riveting but worth the 15 to 20 bucks given that it's ten hours of entertainment.

If you were alive for the 1980's you love it

This book was 5 starts, hands down. Wheaton did a good job, could have done better with the voices though. If you liked the movie for the throw back references then you will love the book. if you aren't familiar with the 1980's at all or Internet culture in the early to mid 90's you may not like it as much. I REALLY enjoyed all the throw back references. listened to the entire thing in two days.
