‘Ghostaniaz: Son of Dragons’, Tessa Dawn’s third installment of the Pantheon of Dragons series is perhaps her finest work yet. Dawn’s rich and immersive storytelling plunges listeners into a vivid world of dark fantasy, with nuanced characters dancing a high-stakes tango of love and horror. Eric G. Dove is delightful as narrator, never overpowering Dawn’s literary palette, making this a most enjoyable (and memorable) listen. I found myself reviewing Dawn’s back catalogue, notably re-listening to both her Blood Curse Series and previous Pantheon of Dragons titles. Beyond grateful to have found this deeply-talented author.

“Blood Echo,” Tessa Dawn’s latest installment of her Blood Curse Series is simply magnificent. A compelling storyline, complex characters and lush descriptions make for an unforgettable read AND listen. What I have done with previous books of the BCS is to purchase the eBook first, sit down for a big read and then listen to the audible version. The reason I enjoy this is because it creates a fully immersive experience, where I can literally hop into Dawn’s world and experience the story in a multi-faceted manner. “Blood Echo” centers around Nanaşule, a vampire and Gwendolyn, his human ‘destiny’. Characters from past books also made an appearance, which was a lovely addition to this evocative tale. I absolutely LOVED this installment and will both re-read and re-listen.

I cannot begin to describe how entertaining it is to listen to your favorite books via “audio” format. This storytelling format allows one to enjoy the immersive experience of the tale via narration -- and with Tessa Dawn’s latest book, "Axeviathon - Son of Dragons” -- it’s the perfect merger of this author’s expert skill as a writer, and technology (including Eric G. Dove’s flawless narration.) With every word spoken, I was drawn into Dawn’s web of exotic world building, lush characterization and intriguing plot lines. It was an unusual pairing of characters (Axe and Amber) and I found myself anxious to learn whether the two could overcome their differences and their personal histories. I thoroughly recommend anything Dawn writes. With each installment, I fall in love with this author’s rare talent and find myself perusing her back catalogue to read/listen over and over again.

The universe of the Blood Curse Series just expanded with Tessa Dawn’s latest installment, ‘Blood Web’ – and it’s breathtaking.

Dawn’s raw and emotive storytelling artfully combine deceit, passion, danger and destiny. Her paintbrush is the spoken word, where the listener is taken on a meaningful journey, one which lingers long after the last word is spoken. At various points, I had to stop listening, just to marvel at the brilliance of her narrative.

The entire series to-date, starting with ‘Blood Destiny’ is a rare find, and I am grateful to have found such a gifted author. Thanks, Tessa!

As I listened to the audiobook version of "Dragons Reign”, book #2 of Tessa Dawn’s Dragons Realm saga, I was transported into an “otherworld" of brutal passion, fate and magic. Dazzling, emotive and sophisticated, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story. It was the perfect companion to the e-book version, which I enjoyed first. Tessa Dawn is a gifted author, one which I am eternally grateful to have discovered. I have read each and every one of her books from both the Blood Curse Series and the Dragons Realm saga multiple times, each time, discovering fresh and exciting story elements to keep me thinking for days. Thank you, Tessa!

"Christmas in Dark Moon Vale” is the kind of novella that feels like a full-length novel, complete with emotionally-complex characters we have grown to know and love, and multiple plot points that solidifies Tessa Dawn’s position as a top-notch author. I found myself laughing – then crying – but mostly absolutely delighted to be reading her latest installment in the critically-acclaimed “Blood Curse” series.

Tessa Dawn’s “Blood Betrayal” gritty; intense

Revisado: 07-18-17

Would you listen to Blood Betrayal again? Why?

Absolutely! Eric Dove’s narration conveyed the tone and intensity of “Blood Betrayal” in an all-consuming way. I felt I was “in” the story – and as such, experienced fear, passion, uncertainty, beauty, darkness – all the emotions Dawn’s characters experienced.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Saxson Olaru – part predator, part romantic, smart, witty, and poignant. He was a fascinating character, revealed in Dawn’s emotive passages.

Which scene was your favorite?

All! Each scene felt like a symphony; the ebb and flow of the tide as expressed in literary passages. One moment, filled with angst, the next, filled with beauty. Dawn played her characters succinctly and, coupled with rich imagery, makes for a compelling, and inspiring listen.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was! I had a hard time pressing “STOP” because I became “part” of the story. Without me having to read the words, turn the pages, etc. I was easier absorbed by Dawn’s tale. The narration, being as it was, morphed Dove himself into each personality. Fascinating...

Any additional comments?

Written in Dawn’s breathtaking style, complete with rich imagery and stirring passages, “Blood Betrayal” was a wildly raw ride. With an exceptional author like Dawn, my practice is to read the e-book, then listen to the audio version. It’s much-appreciated (and a nod to the author) to want to enjoy a book in multiple forms. And, with all of Dawn’s books, I found myself doing just that in this latest installment.

Passion & Poignancy in Tessa Dawn's New Series

If you could sum up Zanaikeyros - Son of Dragons in three words, what would they be?

Passion, poignancy and sensuality dominate Tessa Dawn's new "Pantheon of Dragons" series. In Book #1, Zanaikeyros (Zane) and Jordan, while fated to one another, need to find their own paths into each other's hearts. And this path isn't easy...

What did you like best about this story?

Time is a precious commodity neither one can afford to waste. Yet, a connection from the soul level runs it's own course, and cannot be rushed. Dawn's pacing is superb, with both a sense of urgency conveyed to the reader, as well as homage to the fragile, emotional bonds both characters need to form. Layered into this complex tale are the external forces which both push – and pull – Zane and Jordan into oft-conflicting directions.

What does Eric G. Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Each character's voice was strengthened and deepened with Eric G. Dove's professional narration. I found myself effortlessly slipping into Tessa Dawn's world, with each spoken word. I appreciated the audio version for this reason as I was able to let someone else do the reading while I experienced the story on this unique level.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes there was and I hesitate to reveal this "spoiler." I will say it's a moment which has stuck with me, weeks after reading the book. I'll share a little clue: it's towards the end of the story, and at that moment, I realized the profound connection between both characters.

Any additional comments?

My advice, given the depth and complexity of this story is to read the eBook or print version and then allow yourself to experience it via Audio book. As with all of Tessa Dawn's writing, I found myself inspired and lifted, and am grateful for such a skilled and wonderful author.

Revisado: 06-26-16

Would you listen to Blood Ecstasy again? Why?

Absolutely. Having recently finished reading the e-book version of Blood Ecstasy, I was eager to listen to Eric G. Dove's narration as I wanted to hear the characters come alive.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Blood Ecstasy?

While I have read – and re-read/listened to all of Tessa Dawn's novels, Blood Ecstasy gripped me in such a powerful way that I found myself thinking of Julien, as well as the story for many days following. There was *something* about this book that reached deep down, nestling firmly into my consciousness.

Have you listened to any of Eric G. Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have, as he has narrated other books in Tessa Dawn's Blood Curse series. His narration style is brilliant, in that his rendition of each of the characters is believable and realistic.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me think. As a writer, this is the biggest gift of all: to be affected by a story that much that it makes me think. For that alone, I offer my thanks and respect to Tessa Dawn.

Any additional comments?

I would suggest that listening to one of Tessa Dawn's books will lead to listening to ALL of her books. She *IS* that good.

Thanks for reading my review.

Would you listen to Daywalker - The Beginning again? Why?

Absolutely! I enjoyed this lighter, yet thoroughly well-crafted tale by Tessa Dawn. Emily Beresford's narration was refreshing while engaging, and I really felt the characters in each of her spoken words.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Daywalker - The Beginning?

The dialogue was brilliant:"I was only twenty-one, had just started my own business, and was about to get killed on my first day. This was so unfair."While classed as urban fantasy, I found myself surprisingly entertained by the smart dialogue and witty humor throughout Dawn's short story. The plot line was fresh and kept me listening. Daywalker certainly deserves a sequel.

What about Emily Beresford’s performance did you like?

Beresford emoted so well, I found myself "hearing" the emotions as she narrated, and then experiencing them with each, passing word. It almost felt as if I were listening to Daywalker in 3D. Being a huge fan of reading, the audio experience is a uniquely newish experience for me, once which I appreciate a great deal.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Dawn's richly-woven descriptions transport a reader/listener into the world she has created. I found myself drawn to the little details, which helped me visualize the characters to a "T." Dawn has the unique ability to literally "paint" with words. A rare skill.

Any additional comments?

This first-person narration is geared towards a new adult market, but readers/listeners of all ages will be able to relate to the tale. A great story transcends genre, transcends demographics and leaves you inspired, no matter which shelf it's assigned to!
