Historia
An outrageous indictment of Donald Trump's appalling behavior when it comes to golf - on and off the green - and what it reveals about his character. Based on Reilly's own experiences with Trump as well as interviews with over 100 golf pros, amateurs, developers, and caddies, Commander in Cheat is a startling and at times hilarious indictment of Trump and his golf game.

Rick Reilly is a amazing writer and a great voice actor!
Revisado: 09-24-24
This book was written before trumps first presidency and I am listening to it here in the summer of 2024. It is still so applicable to the man running again for president. What a wonderful insight into the morals and mindset of such a polarizing man. After reading this my desire to play a round with Trump has increased but I my desire to vote for him has decreased tremendously. Rick is right, Trump is not good for the game of golf, a game I learned from my father and now love sharing with my son.

Historia
For those who could read between the lines, the censored news out of China was terrifying. But the president insisted there was nothing to worry about. Fortunately, we are still a nation of skeptics. Fortunately, there are those among us who study pandemics and are willing to look unflinchingly at worst-case scenarios. Michael Lewis’ taut and brilliant nonfiction thriller pits a band of medical visionaries against the wall of ignorance that was the official response of the Trump administration to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Great story but it takes a while to build
Revisado: 08-10-21
I hate to criticize Michael Lewis and he has written so many great books but if I had one complaint about this one it would be about the massive amount of background given to the key characters. I encourage anyone considering stopping this book to press through. You will be glad you did.

Historia
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

The 15-20 intro almost had me giving up on this book. Don’t make the mistake I almost did. Push through-it’s worth it.

Historia
The novel and fiery thesis of Break It Up is simple: the United States has never lived up to its name - and never will. The disunionist impulse may have found its greatest expression in the Civil War, but as Break It Up shows, the seduction of secession wasn't limited to the South or the 19th century. With a scholar's command and a journalist's curiosity, Kreitner takes readers on a revolutionary journey through American history, revealing the power and persistence of disunion movements in every era and region.

Just read the title-it says it all! I wish some of the detail was excluded and the writer could have made his point in a faster, more efficient manner

Historia
Everything Is Spiritual is a brief history of how these ideas about creation, love, and connection shaped the author - and can shape every one of us. In this audiobook, Rob Bell explores the concept that what people really want, more than anything, is to understand their purpose here - so much so that it gives them an abiding sense of awe and wonder. And when you embrace where and who you come from and your wounds and pains and regrets, you will discover that there's an invitation lurking there in the mess of life.

75/25
Revisado: 11-20-20
If you are huge Rob fan as I am, you have probably heard or read 90% of chapters 1-5. Most of it greatly comes from Rob’s wonderful white board talk for 8-10 years ago which was a work by the same title. Chapters 6-7 build on those familiar stories with new insight and depth. If have heard or read Rob’s past work about the wonders of the “bigness” and “smallness” of this life just jump to chapter 6-7 and save yourself the repeat. The information in chapters 1-5 was so good originally you won’t need the refresher.

Ethical Leadership Masterpiece
Revisado: 08-30-18
The first half to two-thirds of this book is one of the finest books on ethical leadership I have ever read. Growth through mentorship, successes, failure, and extreme personal loss molded Mr. Comey into a fine man and a great ethical leader. The final chapters are more informational, relating
to his days working during the 2016 presidential election and his time at the FBI under the Trump administration. These chapters are not as interesting to a student of leadership and simply show something that I believe most of us know: politics today are nasty, deceitful, and largely unethical. Not a friendly environment for an ethical leader such as Mr. Comey.

Historia
Democracies can die with a coup d'état - or they can die slowly. This happens most deceptively when in piecemeal fashion, with the election of an authoritarian leader, the abuse of governmental power and the complete repression of opposition. All three steps are being taken around the world - not least with the election of Donald Trump - and we must all understand how we can stop them.

Enjoyed the history, analysis was politically skewed at times
Revisado: 05-29-18
It shouldn’t be surprising that a book written by educators is big on historical facts but short on political neutrality.
