The worst of the series
Revisado: 04-05-25
The narration is bad overall with the male characters sounding very similar and nasally. The characters are poorly developed being very generic with little distinguishing features. The writing is bad, frequently failing to paint the scene and adding random references to the time period that feel forced.

A good entertaining tale
Revisado: 07-28-23
Overall this is a solid well written tale, with great narration. The story doesn't break new ground but not stays away from being predictable, the main drawback is the lack of characters that you can form a bond with and care about

Historia
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.

Good but could have been great
Revisado: 12-27-21
Great story and characters but overall it’s just good due to two large drawbacks. One, the main character need to have a social commentary or political rant is forced in and feels like someone shoving socialism down your throat. Two, the narrator is between good and okay overall, a full cast or narrator with a larger range is needed for a work this size

Very predictable with little redeeming value
Revisado: 09-07-21
The story is extremely predictable with very little entertainment value. The characters are very one dimensional and don’t ring true as they are frequently indistinguishable in action. Even the cat trying to ponce on a bug during the climax is lackluster due to the over formulaic nature, poor dialogue, and overdrawn nature. Being formulaic isn’t the issue with the book, it’s the lack of creativity and differentiation.
Don’t bother with this book.

Awful in so many ways
Revisado: 02-24-21
First a review of the story- this futuristic setting for this world is poorly conceived frequently relying on modern elements and assuming 0 advancements while at other times massive leaps In tech and references to a dystopian future. The plot is fairly plain with a couple holes and a few side plots that are partially built. One consistently confusing parts is the setting of various scenes which you are plunged into and only find out later where they are.
The narrator is extremely nasally and over enunciated that has the same effect of 60 grit sandpaper being used to shave. She’s intelligible and clear but the cost is too high.

75 % Holmes 5 % love craft 20 % junk
Revisado: 10-04-20
I enjoy matchups especially lovecraft; however, this suffers greatly from uneven writing with some chapters feeling like the are geared towards a word count.
Most of the writings also misses the mark on tone. It frequently takes the stance that the horrors can be solved like Rubik’s cube reducing the horrors to poorly behaved creatures.

Historia
Most children go through a dinosaur phase. Learning all the tongue-twisting names, picking favourites based on ferocity, armour, or sheer size. For many kids this love of ‘terrible lizards’ fizzles out at some point between starting and leaving primary school. All those fancy names slowly forgotten, no longer any need for a favourite. For all those child dino fanatics who didn’t grow up to become paleontologists, dinosaurs seem like something out of mythology. They are dragons, pictures in books, abstract, other, extinct.
