Historia
Clete Purcel—private investigator, ex-member of the New Orleans Police Department, and war veteran with a hard shell and just a few soft spots—is Dave Robicheaux’s longtime friend and partner in detective work. But he has a troubled past. When Clete leaves his car at the local car wash, only to return to find it ransacked by a group of thugs tied to the drug trade from Mexican cartels to Louisiana, it feels personal—his grandniece died of a fentanyl overdose, and his fists curl when he thinks of the dealers who sold it.

In many ways, Burke’s best!
Revisado: 04-20-25
The first book of Burke that I heard was “Rose of The Cimarron” which started a long sojourn with this author. His books are, what, third person narratives of his (Burke’s) journey through the various lessons of life? And I would thank him for his open handed generosity with his lessons. May God grant that he will write again!

Mrs. Rowling is phenomenal! And this story is brilliant. I could wish that the Potter series could’ve gone on longer, but that would only detract from the initial pleasure.
Now: So long as some dingle berry doesn’t have it redone with his illiterate cousin as narrator…..

Mr. MacLean wins again!
Revisado: 03-18-25
MacLean writes stories that burn and flare in one’s imagination like an all consuming blaze which makes his books so very hard to put down. This one more like a blue white flame which simply welds the book to the hands and the words to the mind’s eye.

Revisado: 03-04-25
MacLean has but one standard of writing: Supreme Excellence! Everything he ever wrote is of that caliber. I’m just sorry that this story has not been narrated by a native English speaking person!

Well written, very well narrated, utterly pointless. I’m sure that other readers might find this story intriguing, and I won’t fight them for download.

David Eddings could write food product warning labels and make them riveting! It’s o wonder that his stories are the master pieces that they are! Combine such a gift with a narrator the likes of Cameron Beirle and the imagination of the reader is left boundless.

Revisado: 01-24-25
The whole Harry Potters book series is one long list of exquisite successes. Had I JK Rowling’s gift with words, or Jim Dale’s gift of narration, I might do this review justice. But having neither I can only gratitude for these superb works of artistry!

Magnificent story, superbly written, pathetically performed.
Revisado: 12-22-24
Only Alister MacLean could keep a listener awake through a Fitzpatrick narration! One suspects that a head cold inspired the monotone presentation and frequent mispronunciation of so many common words.
As for the story: MacLean, ever the master of attention gripping subtlety, still kept me enthralled! I never thought to find a narrator as pathetic as Patrick Tull, how sad to find one worse, entrusted with a work of Alister MacLean!

Revisado: 12-17-24
David Eddings is incredible and well worth the time spent listening to/reading his works. This is true of everything he writes!
Cameron Beierle is a perfect narrator for such an author! He does for the works of Eddings what Frederick Davidson does for Bernard Cornell, and what Will Paton does for James Lee Burke! Superb authors deserve excellent narrators, as do their listeners!

Extremely disappointing
Revisado: 10-06-24
No one is perfect and this shambles, from a normally gifted writer, is proof. A pathetic diatribe of politically correct garbage, lashing out against things beyond his understanding, with no discernible style.
Thank heavens for “Shock Wave”, and “Sahara”. Surely his redemption!
