Love this author’s work!
Revisado: 04-12-25
I find this author’s writings to be almost lyrical. He has a way of capturing all emotions, no matter what the storyline. I laughed, teared up a little, got angry, sad, and happy too!! Hollinghurst brings it all, and continues to be one of my favorite authors. Samuel West knocks it out of the park with his superb narration - what a talent.

Historia
Nearly two weeks early, on March 3, 1947, in the maternity ward of Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, Archibald Isaac Ferguson, the one and only child of Rose and Stanley Ferguson, is born. From that single beginning, Ferguson’s life will take four simultaneous and independent fictional paths. Four identical Fergusons made of the same DNA, four boys who are the same boy, go on to lead four parallel and entirely different lives. Family fortunes diverge. Athletic skills and sex lives and friendships and intellectual passions contrast.

I became addicted in no time
Revisado: 11-25-24
This book was like no other to me in that the way Auster designed his story kept my full attention from beginning to end. I especially enjoyed the authors narration. This was a comfort to listen to and I highly recommend it to everyone who comes across it. I will buy the book to have on my shelf.

Barclay at his best!
Revisado: 10-25-24
I love a Linwood Barclay book, but this one really knocked we off my feet. A great mystery with subplots as intriguing as the main plot. Also, I found the story especially moving.
I cared about the characters and hung on to them to the end. Bravo Barclay!!!

As does Rachel herself. Sucked into a conspiracy thick with deception, violence, and possibly madness, Rachel must find the strength within herself to conquer unimaginable fears and mind-altering truths.

Not Lehane’s best I’d say
Revisado: 10-15-23
I usually enjoy listening and reading this author’s books which is why I found this title to be a likely good pic. I found it to be somewhat predictable and the characters searching for which plot they were going to stick with.

I’m struggling to get through this book. I’ve a feeling that if I’d chosen to read rather than to listen I’d be having a much better experience. I want to stick with it out of respect to the author but I’m afraid it’s a no-go.

Walk has never left the coastal California town where he and Star grew up. He may have become the chief of police, but he’s still trying to heal the old wound of having given the testimony that sent his best friend, Vincent King, to prison decades before. And he's in overdrive protecting Duchess and her brother.

There is love, sadness, bravery, courage, loss and so much more wrapped up in this book. The author writes in a style that puts you there and keeps you coming back, along with the excellent narration. A beautiful, bittersweet listen/read.

Good read/listen!!
Revisado: 03-04-22
Karissa Vacker does a wonderful job narrating and Stacy Willingham writes with passion. I found myself “in the story” with ease and looking forward to it’s end. Maybe a bit wordy at times for me but I found it lyrical and it kept my interest. I will look forward to Ms. Willingham’s next book sure!

Historia
In the middle of the night, in a house on a quiet street in suburban Minneapolis, intruders silently murder Luke Ellis' parents and load him into a black SUV. The operation takes less than two minutes. Luke will wake up at The Institute, in a room that looks just like his own, except there's no window. And outside his door are other doors, behind which are other kids with special talents - telekinesis and telepathy - who got to this place the same way Luke did: Kalisha, Nick, George, Iris, and 10-year-old Avery Dixon.

...love them all, but this one was one of my favorite’s. Tony Roberts can’t be beat of course. I’ve become so familiar with all of the major characters that I find myself laughing out loud at times and always look forward to the next book.
I’m one of those fans that happened upon this series toward the more recent books, became so enthralled tht I had to start back at the beginning and work my way forward.....Stuart Woods has my definite attention.....I’m a BIG FAN !!!!!!!
