Innovation requires solving big problems from a new perspective, but many struggle to successfully innovate in their work or personal life when faced with a problem that requires innovative thinking. Author and researcher April Bell has zeroed in on the power of empathy and the ability to embrace risk when solving big problems in the unknown. In her book, The Fire Starter: Igniting Innovation with Empathy, Bell combines engaging personal stories with research to provide listeners with a simple framework helping them connect to greater human truths to solve big problems.

Historia
What if the smartest people in the world understand something that the rest of us don't? (They do.) What if they know that in order to achieve success, they will sometimes have to do things that others may initially perceive as stupid? The fact of the matter is that the smartest people in the world don't run from stupid, they lean into it (in a smart way). In The Power of Starting Something Stupid, Richie Norton redefines stupid as we know it, demonstrating that life-changing ideas are often tragically mislabeled stupid.

Historia
Burnout. Many women in America have experienced it. What’s expected of women and what it’s really like to be a woman in today’s world are two very different things - and women exhaust themselves trying to close the gap between them. Sisters Emily Nagoski, PhD, and Amelia Nagoski, DMA, are here to help end the cycle of feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Instead of asking us to ignore the very real obstacles and societal pressures that stand between women and well-being, they explain with compassion and optimism what we’re up against - and teach us how to fight back.

Terrific book!

Human giver syndrome does not just impact women. Even though this book takes a feminist perspective, it’s insights apply to anyone in helping professions. Love it, and I am already experiencing more joy as I apply it’s insights.
I highly recommend this book!!!

I love the information in the book!
The narration was difficult because of a monotone delivery. I found myself having to rewind because I spaced out while listening. Listen in small snipers to stay focused.

Inspiring!
Revisado: 06-19-22
It is so easy to get discouraged when trying to create anything, yet Matthew’s work gives me the courage and inspiration to keep working. The book goes beyond inspiration, giving a workable action plan to create the thing that you have dreamed about.
I just finished the book and have already written a story based one of the action plans. I plan to return to this book repeatedly to get the action plans and inspiration I need to keep creating.
Matthew, Thank you for writing this!

Historia
Most people think of themselves as “good", but it’s not always easy to determine what’s “good” or “bad” - especially in a world filled with complicated choices and pitfalls and booby traps and bad advice. Fortunately, many smart philosophers have been pondering this conundrum for millennia, and they have guidance for us. With bright wit and deep insight, How to Be Perfect explains concepts like deontology, utilitarianism, existentialism, ubuntu, and more, so we can sound cool at parties and become better people.
