Historia
Since we first set sail on the open sea, ships and their wrecks have been an inevitable part of human history. Archaeologists have made spectacular discoveries excavating these sunken ships, their protective underwater cocoon keeping evidence of past civilizations preserved. World renowned maritime archeologist David Gibbins ties together the stories of some of the most significant shipwrecks in time to form a single overarching narrative of world history.

Can’t get through because of narration
Revisado: 07-15-24
Hate to pile on but the narration was very peculiar. Sounded like a plodding college professor deliberately attempting to enunciate each word so we could understand him. Anyway I couldn’t get past the third chapter which is a shame because the content seemed worthwhile.

Historia
In August of 1588, a Spanish fleet of 130 ships departed from La Coruña under the command of the Duke of Medina Sidonia. Its purpose was to rendezvous with the Spanish army at the Dutch port of Sluys. At this point, the fleet was to act as a screen while the Spanish army was shuttled across the English Channel in barges. But there was one problem: the English fleet. Though much smaller than the Spanish fleet, it was a demonstrably superior fighting force of sailors, ships, naval technology, and guns.

sensational book
Revisado: 03-27-23
one of the best non-fiction books I've ever read. Gripping and factual. Lots of information I never knew about this subject. The audio book was narrated really well. I've not enjoyed a book this much in a long time.
