Historia
Earth’s shattered future. Humanity’s natural resources have been exhausted. When our planet is devastated by an atomic cataclysm, a new life emerges for a cross-section of humanity within the walls of a towering megastructure known as Tier City. A self-appointed governing body of world-leaders, called The Universal Council, control this New Earth. Tier City residents are force-fed Network propaganda by an influencer known only as The Preacher. Rachel is a young drone delivery pilot with ambitions to escape the confinement of her accommodation pod by becoming an interstellar pilot. As ...

Once again a political agenda ruins a good story
Revisado: 12-24-23
I was enjoying this until once again someone political agenda is inserted into the story. The claim that Donald Trump and the republicans overthrew the government and suspended the constitution is ridiculous. Just leave the politics out of it. Come on, it’s exhausting.

Historia
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

Blatant political agenda
Revisado: 12-24-23
I am so sick of audible doing this. A decent story, good production, ruined by some elitist demagogue inserting their preferred version of politics.
They blatantly encourage the demeaning and shunning of anyone refusing to take a Covid 19 vaccine. Come on. Readers are looking for a good story to escape, not to get the disproven msnbc talking points.

Historia
Zero day: a software bug that allows a hacker to break into your devices and move around undetected. One of the most coveted tools in a spy's arsenal, a zero day has the power to silently spy on your iPhone, dismantle the safety controls at a chemical plant, alter an election and shut down the electric grid (just ask Ukraine). For decades, under cover of classification levels and non-disclosure agreements, the United States government became the world’s dominant hoarder of zero days.

Political bias undercuts a great subject and story
Revisado: 01-02-23
This present some really great and scary information that every American should know and understand. Unfortunately, the author’s blatant political bias undercuts some great points that could have been made. It feels throughout the book that she targets the right with her rhetoric and completely undermines her thesis of “the Russians and Chinese are in everything and the vast majority goes by unnoticed” by saying there was zero interference in 2020.
Overall, the book has a lot of good info but it’s hard to miss the political bias which downgrades the credibility of objectivity.
The narrator was one of the worst I’ve listened to in more than 500 books read. Saying “Kreev” instead of “Kiev” is wild to me. If you can get over that, it’s fine but come on.
