Historia
The book draws its inspiration from stoicism, the ancient Greek philosophy of enduring pain or adversity with perseverance and resilience. Stoics focus on the things they can control, let go of everything else, and turn every new obstacle into an opportunity to get better, stronger, tougher. As Marcus Aurelius put it nearly 2000 years ago: “The impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way becomes the way.”

Very solid reading good volume rate tone and easy to listen to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The mysteries in the Catholic Church and the doctrines that are indeed Esoteric in nature. Yogi's life vs the Catholic mysteries.

Historia
Waite attempts to make a connection between the occultist and the mystic, who he describes as searching for the same experience. The difference being that one is what he calls the saint and the other is what he deems a specialist. He also points out general occultists, who may be neither but who were well read and have helped to harmonize information but didn't actually do anything, such as Robert Fludd and Cornelius Agrippa.

The Gift of the Mystic vs Occult
Revisado: 07-16-15
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Very enjoyable short read. Whets the tongue to understand more of the life of a Mystic vs. other psychic phenomenons. Hypnotism, spiritualism, psychic research differs from Mystic or Occultist according to the author. The Mystic turns his head toward Jerusalem and forgoes the ties to materialism. The difference between science and spiritual views and paths.
What other book might you compare The Life of the Mystic to and why?
Transcendental views of life
What about Jason Newcomb’s performance did you like?
Good narrator. Speed, tone and rate nice with verbal inflections at appropriate times.

Historia
Not simply satisfied with the signs, grips and words of workmen at temples, from a bygone past, the author wants to know what lies beyond these pedestrian tales told to the newly made mason, of our history. Brother Bush engages in justifiable pride examining the mysteries of ancient Egypt and Greece, which span centuries and helped to carve the path, which gave way for our modern fraternity. What are masonry's ties to the ancient Rites of Eleusis?

Great Foundation Understanding the basis of Masons
Revisado: 07-15-15
Would you listen to The Ancient Mysteries again? Why?
Yes. It presents a clear understanding of the rise of Masonic Belief with the underlying beliefs that form that belief system.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Ancient Mysteries?
The Philosophies of life that come from the same background as many religious or spiritual institutions. The book ties Pythagoras and other social expanding and mathematical truths that have expanded our civilizations through this ancient wisdom.
Which character – as performed by Adam Hanin – was your favorite?
The narrator is good clear with deep toned voice with emotional connection to the words of the work. It is not a boring read due to his skill. His intonations of mystery intrigues the reader to listen with enthusiasm to the meaning being communicated.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I do wish to listen to more of these to understand the basis of such a large organization that has made so many social advances in kindness and social justice for the deprived and hurting.
Any additional comments?
Using such ancient wisdom to build the Union with Deity and advanced life skills is golden. These beliefs seem to bring more light to all the knowledge of the world is tied to the wisdom of Deity and meaning to life. . Short reads great for listening while traveling.

Historia
Centuries before whisperings began, of secret knowledge being handed down from the ancient Greeks, through shrouded fraternities such as the Rosicrucians and Freemasons, the Druids were slowly and steadfastly creating priests and philosophers of their own, akin to the Brahmans of India, the Magi of the Persians, as well as the hierophants and scholars of what would eventually become known to the world as the Western Mystery Tradition.

Enjoyed the view and history of Druids
Revisado: 07-15-15
If you could sum up The Ancient Druids in three words, what would they be?
A group so common yet in many backgrounds this is seen as some dark religion. The work allowed for the path of religious development and removed the mystery and opened a better understanding of the quality of the people. The knowledge of the people and priesthood is so much more beautifully presented.
What about Adam Hanin’s performance did you like?
Good recording. He has a deep voice tone and clear enunciation. Read with excitement to present the historical data.

Madame Helena Blavatsky, in two introductory essays, offers students of Theosophical beliefs a wide-reaching and worldly outlook on the Ancient Mysteries. While demonstrating that much like Rosicrucian and Masonic philosophy, Theosophy has, at the heart of its doctrine, the concept of a Universal Brotherhood, she by no means forgets to include numerous Eastern influences, which help set apart the distinctive path of Theosophy, from other arenas of esoteric study...

Comparisons of the work of Jesus and our work
Revisado: 06-10-15
Where does How the Teachings of Jesus Could Save America rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This gave some interesting comparisons of our life and the example that Jesus gave for us to be. When i was thirsty, you didn't bring me water. When i was hungry, you didn't bring me food. How closely to we line our lives with the example of Jesus.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Saying to me... What was Jesus trying to communicate to us as his example. Was it really to let me do it for you? Or for us to follow his example and walk it ourselves?
What does Steve Stansell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
I love to listen in the car while driving or exercising and this reading was very clear, bright easy listening.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes This is a very easy one for one sitting.
