Historia
Five years after The Final Day, the Republic of New America has all but collapsed into regional powers and the world at large is struggling to remain stable as regional conflicts ravage the post EMP landscape. After several years attempting to lead a quiet life, John Matherson receives the news that the President is dying from a possible assassination attempt, and is asked to step in to negotiate with what appears to be a new military power hidden in the wreckage of the world. Pulled back into the fray, John struggles to hold the tottering Republic together.

Underwritten and over acted.
Revisado: 12-30-23
Having loved the first three books, I was dismayed to find that the main character is now a wuss who can't handle stress. The bad guy is a poor stereotype of a military dictator, and everyone is apparently now only capable of two emotions. Further, the narrator wad ATROCIOUS. His portrayal of everyone was absurd. Either wierd gritty anger, or whimpering surrender, tossed with a dash of absurd sneering contempt. The narrator most definitely ruined the book.

Just OK. Narrator is lacking.
Revisado: 10-02-22
While the story is passable, the narrator does a horrible job of conveying male voices. Many male characters seem to have the same cheesy "macho" voice she tried to portray.

Historia
When there is an industrial accident, some of the Morningstar Strain is actually released. The doctor who discovered the strain and her assistant will have to fight their way through Sprinters and Shamblers to save themselves, the vaccine, and the base. Then they discover that it wasn't an accident at all - somebody inside the facility did it on purpose. The war with the RSA and the infected is far from over.

The original author was far better.
Revisado: 01-11-21
This author clearly has little understanding of weapons, tactics, and such. The descriptions used in the action sequences were dismal, and the story as it plays out is pretty subpar.
As to the narrator...well, he has the same annoying overemphasis of the last sentence of a paragraph which he has had since the series began.

Historia
Jack Walker and Michael Talbot come from two worlds; the same, yet different. They both find themselves transported into an alien one, where things aren’t as they seem. While it appears similar to the ones they come from, there are some terrifying differences. Is it a dream? Or has reality been somehow warped? Jack comes from a world filled with nocturnal creatures that were once human, but now seek to destroy the last vestiges of humanity.

would be better w both narrators from these series
Revisado: 11-25-16
The book would have been better had they used both narrators from the Zombie Fallout and A New World books. I kept "translating" Jack Walker's voice into what my mind knows to be him.
