Historia
Julia White is struggling: her bartending job isn’t cutting it, and her first book has sold hardly any copies. She’s broke, barely able to make ends meet while drowning in her late mother’s medical bills and reeling after a one-night stand with her ex-boyfriend, who’s now completely ghosted her. Enter Johnathan Aster, world-renowned photographer, with a proposal: he has a never-before-seen photograph of a woman falling from a train bridge, clutching what appears to be a baby. And he wants Julia to research the story.

Lyrical and heart wrenching
Revisado: 02-04-25
The story is slow building with beautifully flawed and fleshed out characters. The author writes in such a poetic way that pulls you in and makes you care. The narration was phenomenal. I almost never write a review, but this is a must listen. It will stay with me for a long time.

Historia
In the 1990s, Carter Wills was the lead singer of the English alt-rock band Mayluna, securing his place among music legends. His tortured-heart lyrics struck a chord. And so did his secret connection to a woman whose love changed all their lives. Who was she? Evie Waters’s two grown children discover an iconic photo in an old magazine of a “mystery girl” with Carter: their mother. It all started in a wistful time and place for Evie, her twenty-fifth summer.

Just beautiful
Revisado: 06-06-24
This is a story that will stay with me for sometime. Hauntingly beautiful. Narrators were superb… I don’t think I would’ve gotten as much out of the story without hearing it in their voices. This is love story, not a romance. I want more from this author.

Historia
When Roisin and Joe join their friends for a weekend at a country house, it’s a triple celebration—a birthday, an engagement, and the launch of Joe’s shiny new TV show. But as the weekend unfolds, tensions come to light in the group and Roisin begins to question her own relationship. And as they watch the first episode of Joe’s drama, she realizes that the private things she told him—which should have stayed between them—are right there on the screen.

Outstanding!
Revisado: 02-07-24
I didn’t want this to end. The very real feelings explored, the snappy and humorous dialogue, the kindness, grace and honesty of the heroine, it just draws you in. I wanted to meet Rosine and Matt and Gina and Dev. The narrator gave depth and individuality to each character and deserves the highest praise. I’ll be buying another book by this author, especially if the narrator returns.

Historia
When Jane Mooney’s violent stepfather, Warren, disappeared, most folks in Maud Bottoms, Arkansas, assumed he got drunk and drowned. After all, the river had claimed its share over the years. When Jane confessed to his murder, she should have gone to jail. That’s what she wanted. But without a body, the police didn’t charge her with the crime. So Jane left for Boston—and took her secrets with her. Twenty-five years later, the river floods and a body surfaces.

Sooo much unnecessary internal dialogue
Revisado: 02-16-23
The narrator was just right for this book. But the repetition of the same thoughts and feelings of Jane and Georgia Lee made my own thoughts wander. Never was I fully engrossed in the story…just waiting for something to happen. And as a previous reviewer stated, I’m still not certain who actually dunnit, and really, I no longer care.

Dumb front story
Revisado: 12-06-20
First off, Kyf Brewer is awful. His different voices are ridiculous. Thank goodness his part is smaller. Brittany Presley saves this audio book. The amount of bullets flying with seemingly no repercussions is unbelievable. Agent Pine continues her search for her sister on her own time and gets caught up in yet another case that has nothing to do with her. Baldacci used to write good stories, now he seems more of a hack churning out nonsense. I’m done with this series.

Just so poignant, it will stay with me a long time
Revisado: 04-19-20
This book is about heartache, survival, and the perseverance of women. The three main characters are given voices by three of the best narrators I've ever heard. I don't believe I would have been so drawn in, so captured by the story if not for the narration. I didn't want it to end, and now can't get it out of my mind.

Historia
Just a few years ago, Corie Geller was busting terrorists as an agent for the FBI. But at 35, she traded in her badge for the stability of marriage and motherhood. On Wednesdays, she has lunch with her fellow Shorehaven freelancers at a so-so French restaurant, where she senses that something's off. Pete Delaney, a milquetoast package designer, always shows up early, sits in the same spot (often with a different phone in hand), and keeps one eye on the Jeep he parks in the lot across the street. Corie intuitively feels that Pete is hiding something....

Struggled to stay with the story
Revisado: 10-14-19
I was so anxious to listen to this book based on the author’s biography and reviews of previous books. The banter and dialogue alternate between witty and snarky. But _it_goes_ nowhere. Nowhere for long enough for you not to care. Bored Privileged housewife, former FBI agent, who is suspicious of a member of a lunch group formed to bring together people who work from home. He’s unusually dull. So is the plot. Not going to finish. Will return. Narrator made a valiant effort though.

Historia
Renée Ballard works the night shift in Hollywood, beginning many investigations but finishing none, as each morning she turns her cases over to day shift detectives. A once up-and-coming detective, she's been given this beat as punishment after filing a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor. But one night she catches two cases she doesn't want to part with: the brutal beating of a prostitute left for dead in a parking lot and the killing of a young woman in a nightclub shooting. Ballard is determined not to give up at dawn.

Revisado: 03-23-18
The narrator took so much away from the story with her flat, expressionless reading. I fought to keep my attention on the story as I love Michael Connelly's books. The action is fast-paced, even if the narration wasn't. It's a shame as it could have been a great listen with the right narrator.
