The author's perspective is very encouraging and informative, and the narration was enjoyable. This is the best book on ASD that I've read in many months.

Historia
Persuasion, Jane Austen's last novel, is a tale of love and marriage told with irony and insight. Anne Elliot and Captain Wentworth have met and seperated years before. Their reunion, after the passage or irrecoverable years of their youth, forces a recognition of the false values that drove them apart.

Decent story, if you can wait for it to start
Revisado: 11-30-22
There is quite an issue with the sound leveling. The narration is overall quite quiet, but when the narrator gets louder, the change in volume becomes painful because I have to have my volume up so high to hear her natural speaking voice. Because of this, it was difficult to enjoy this audiobook, regardless of the story.

Historia
In Riders of the Dawn, a young gunslinger is changed for the better by a meeting with a beautiful woman. A classic range-war western, this novel features that powerful, romantic, strangely compelling vision of the American West for which L'Amour's fiction is known. In the author's words: "It was a land where nothing was small, nothing was simple. Everything, the lives of men and the stories they told, ran to extremes."

Well, that happened
Revisado: 02-22-22
I set out this year to add several different genres into my list, so this was my selection for western novels. While the story had good structure, I didn't find it interesting or compelling. I was hoping to be able to enjoy it, but I found myself just wishing it were over.

Masters of language can turn unassuming words into phrases that are beautiful, effective, and memorable. What are the secrets of this alchemy? Part of the answer lies in rhetorical figures: practical ways of applying great aesthetic principles to a simple sentence or paragraph. Farnsworth’s Classical English Rhetoric recovers this knowledge for our times. It amounts to a tutorial on eloquence conducted by Churchill and Lincoln, Dickens and Melville, Burke and Paine, and more than a hundred others.

What in the world did I just read?
Revisado: 11-27-21
And why did I do that? I was looking for a fluffy palate cleaner after a depressing biography, but this is Hallmark-meets-fifth-grade without the payoff I needed at the end. The story is worth two stars, but I added a star for originality in storytelling. I was really hoping the quirkiness would turn into something, but this caterpillar never became a butterfly. So mad at myself for wasting a credit here.

Quite a fun read, if not mentally stimulating
Revisado: 10-14-21
Yes, it's a bit of a mishmash of other stories. Aren't all stories, though? The made-up curse words are obvious and overdone, and the romance is entirely predictable, but the world building is immersive enough for me to understand what's going on without using too much brain power and there are at least two of the characters I don't loathe, so I can't complain for a YA book. Worth the time spent listening to it for a credit. Honestly, I'd even purchase a hard copy of this book. However, I have a heart-sinking feeling that the next book will destroy it all, in typical YA fashion. Wish me luck.

She interviewed more than a thousand people, and gained access to new data and official records, to write this definitive and vividly dramatic account of how these American journeys unfolded, altering our cities, our country, and ourselves.
