best books I've ever read. Robin Hobb has a gift for small secrets hidden in plain sight. There's this amazing new story with amazing new characters while still I get bits and pieces from the characters I loved in the first trilogy.

A Sales Pitch For Ellevest

I got this book looking for a more down to earth realistic point of view as I start my career. And as much as I wanted to like it and be inspired the whole thing just felt off.

There are a few inspiring points in this book and some stories from the authors life that are relatable. But every chapter contains at least a small sales pitch for investing in the author's company.

There is one main point that is repeated in this book ad nauseam. Women add diversity to the workspace so don't feel bad for not "fitting in" in an office full of men. You bring something unique that the company needs to succeed so be yourself and follow your instincts.

The writer makes clear she wants to buck the stereotypes of women in business books but tends to lean on them heavily to support herself being a "stronger businesswoman."

I don't recommend it.

This was an amazing and inspiring book. It is amazing how knowing a persons story can paint a whole picture and can help us understand the world and people around us a little better. We can't be expected to have lived all these lives but we can listen and imagine what our neighbors have been through and celebrate both our similarities and differences.

A journey immersive from the start. The ending had my heart pounding in suspense and left me with the feeling of triumph and pride for it's characters.

The story has everything. There were times I felt terrified for the characters, angry for them, excited and cheerful with them, I definitely fell in love with them.

The reading is done by the author and is not acted out which makes it different from other audible books. I'd have loved to hear actors for a more immersive experience but that's not the authors choice so I'm glad she made it possible for us to listen even without them. Don't let that be the reason you pass up this incredible book.

So incredible

dogs are so fascinating and knowing more about how they think has made me and mine much closer. I have a service dog named Tetra. she's my companion, truly my best friend. She does so much for me and I always wonder what more I can do for her. new toys, beds, lots of walks, lots of treats. I'm also one of the owners that doesn't force my dog to interact with people. I get a lot of disgruntled looks if she walks away from them while they try to pet her. "she only likes to be touched once she gets to know you then she loves the attention." to other people that seems like a problem. I'm honestly glad she doesn't run right up to strangers and try to lick all over their face like she does me.

After reading this book our bond has grown. She is definitely happier. I offer her my face to smell more often. I buy toys that are blue and green so she can see them better (I've read two of your books so far downloading the third now ^_^ )

I've also been trying to smell with her which has been a lot of fun. She knows when I am smelling because I can flare my nostrils and squeeze them to make them longer depending on how hard I'm smelling. She sees that and hers start to wiggle too. haha.

I love your books. They have been a joy to listen to. Thank you!

everyone who works with dogs should read this!

I have a service dog who is with me 24/7 she loves other dogs but doesn't like attention from strangers and so she ducks aeay behind me when a person comes up expecting to pet her. Often I get a response along the lines of "why is she so standoffish, doesn't like people." some people get offended. And I just tell them simply that she likes her personal space when it comes to other humans. she always has. I rescued her when she was three weeks old. bottle fed her. she's never been with anyone else and she's always been well cared for. dogs have autonomy just like we do. Horowitz explains this so very well in her book. I'm glad there are people who realize just how special dogs are for just being themselves. And how each one is unique. their biggest asset is not only in their ability to understand us, but in their relationship with us and how truly lucky we are to have such a genuine companion in dogs.

everything the world has forgotten

I used the stop smoking now book a little over a year ago and haven't picked up a cigarette or even wanted one since I finished it. I came to this book because I am a little overweight and want to be healthier I trust the author and after reading it I am not disappointed. I've been trusting my instincts for 3 days now and already feel a hundred percent better I know this method is going to work a hundred percent.
