Best translation I have encountered.

A masterpiece of its time!

Considering the time period and the societal hierarchy, it sounds like the book was only meant to be a descriptive historical background and personal guide to his students. But his manner of writing and his way of thinking seems to be of exceptional standard and stature. Very inspiring and interesting listen by Brian Nishii!
