Historia
Henry Winkler, launched into prominence as “The Fonz” in the beloved Happy Days, has transcended the role that made him who he is. Brilliant, funny, and widely regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood (though he would be the first to tell you that it’s simply not the case, he’s really just grateful to be here), Henry shares in this achingly vulnerable memoir the disheartening truth of his childhood, the difficulties of a life with severe dyslexia, the pressures of a role that takes on a life of its own, and the path forward once your wildest dream seems behind you.

Like a good meal with an old friend.
Revisado: 12-06-23
I’m only 15 years younger than Henry, but I grew up watching him and feeling somehow close to him. This was a fascinating portal into the person he is and the life he’s led. Thank you, Henry, for sharing yourself so openly with us. There was one thing I missed: no mention of his film The One and Only (1978). I hope to hear that story one day.

Historia
Born Erik Weisz in Budapest in 1874, Houdini grew up an impoverished Jewish immigrant in the Midwest and became world-famous thanks to talent, industry, and ferocious determination. Nobody knows how Houdini performed some of his dazzling, death-defying tricks, and nobody knows, finally, why he felt compelled to punish and imprison himself over and over again. Tracking the restless Houdini's wide-ranging exploits, acclaimed biographer Adam Begley tells the story of a mystifying man's astonishing career.

Finally, A Clear And Unvarnished Story.
Revisado: 09-25-23
I’ve read many books and stories of Houdini. This telling is the most honest and least embellished that I’ve come across. Straightforward and fascinating. Thoroughly enjoyable throughout.

Historia
In this incisive memoir, Steve Lukather tells the complete Toto story. He also lifts the lid on what went on behind the closed studio doors, shedding light on the unique creative processes of some of the most legendary names in music: from Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and Elton John to Miles Davis, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, and Aretha Franklin. Lukather’s extraordinary tale also encompasses the dark side of stardom and the American Dream. Frank, engaging, and often hilarious, The Gospel According to Luke is no ordinary rock memoir.

Revisado: 03-22-21
This book is fantastic. Hearing Luke tell his story as only he can. It took me back to the years out of high school when I played in bands all around Southern California. Those were great times. Thanks for the memories, Steve!

Intimate, intelligent, and haunting
Revisado: 09-22-19
I was drawn to this book by my fandom of Patton Oswald, but that fell away immediately as I listened to the compelling and fascinating story of the Golden State killer as told by Michelle McNamara. Her insights and “voice” in the telling of the story is captivating.
The narration by Gabra Zackman is intimate and absorbing. I always felt that she was speaking directly to ME.
What an unfortunate and sad loss for all of us was Michelle McNamara’s passing.

This is a warm, loving tribute to a fascinating industry, and a memoir of a huge talent who’s as humble, gracious and kind as the people he lovingly talks about in his story.

Historia
Magic, adventure, mystery, and romance combine in this epic debut in which a young princess must reclaim her dead mother’s throne, learn to be a ruler - and defeat the Red Queen, a powerful and malevolent sorceress determined to destroy her. On her 19th birthday, Princess Kelsea Raleigh Glynn, raised in exile, sets out on a perilous journey back to the castle of her birth to ascend her rightful throne. Plain and serious, a girl who loves books and learning, Kelsea bears little resemblance to her mother, the vain and frivolous Queen Elyssa.

I haven't read a good fantasy book in a while. This was a very intriguing story with full colorful characters. I can't wait to read the next two books of this trilogy and am super excited a film of this book starring Emma Watson will be out soon.

Stephen King returns to the characters and territory of one of his most popular novels ever, The Shining, in this instantly riveting novel about the now middle-aged Dan Torrance (the boy protagonist of The Shining) and the very special 12-year-old girl he must save from a tribe of murderous paranormals. This is an epic war between good and evil, a gory, glorious story that will thrill the millions of hyper-devoted fans of The Shining and wildly satisfy anyone new to the territory of this icon in the King canon.

Not what you might expect. Another King classic.
Revisado: 03-08-14
What did you love best about Doctor Sleep?
The characters are rich, new, and yet familiar. Will Patton shows surprising range, creating many distinct characters. From a young girl to aged beings.
What did you like best about this story?
Stephen King weaves this tale with tension, foreboding and dread. It's an exhilarating ride.
Any additional comments?
You don't need to be familiar with the book version of The Shining to enjoy this story, but it helps. This story stands firmly on it's own footing. It's an extremely satisfying read for any Stephen King fan.
