Historia
Even as a girl Morgan has always been wild, like the seas which batter the cliffs beneath her home, Tintagel Castle. But she has always been safe, too. Then one day her father is called away to a war from which he does not return. In his place comes the High King, Uther Pendragon, with the sorcerer Merlin lurking in his wake. Uther claims Morgan’s mother, the Lady Igraine as his queen.

I loved the feminist perspective.
Revisado: 11-17-23
I liked how Morgan is reimagined from a woman's perspective, in a way that makes complete sense. Can't believe I have to wait until March of 2024 for book 2!

Masterful!
Revisado: 10-01-20
Each book in this series of four is more skillfully wrought and subtle than the last. The writing is superb, the characters rich in depth and humanity. You will absolutely fall in love with these wonderful people. Don't miss out on this!

Fantastic Seriers!
Revisado: 09-26-20
I've already read all 4 books in this series, and although I finished them less than 6 months ago, I'm already listening to them again. This series is the best fantasy fiction I've read since the last two books in the Harry Potter series. There is so much heart, such fine world building, such fabulous, lovable characters, it just gives you goose bumps. You won't regret owning them (and re-reading them) all!

Best Fantasy/Fiction Series EVER!
Revisado: 06-24-20
This series of four books is absolutely the best I've read in a decade, and I read a great deal. The narration is superb, the story is compelling, and the characters are complex, nuanced, and lovingly, breathtakingly human. I can't wait for more from this author, and hopefully the same narrator!

Historia
The shift toward automation is about to create a tsunami of unemployment. Not in the distant future - now. One recent estimate predicts 13 million American workers will lose their jobs within the next seven years - jobs that won't be replaced. In a future marked by restlessness and chronic unemployment, what will happen to American society? In The War on Normal People, Andrew Yang paints a dire portrait of the American economy. Rapidly advancing technologies like artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation software are making millions of Americans' livelihoods irrelevant.

An Extraordinary, Hugely Important Book
Revisado: 11-21-19
This book, by 2020 presidential candidate Andrew Yang, is like nothing I have ever read by someone running for president. A self-described reluctant candidate, Mr. Yang brings brilliant, original, and refreshing solutions to the myriad of problems facing our country today. This book is a must read. And even if, after reading it, you don't end up voting for Andrew Yang, I think you will want to hold your chosen leader to a higher standard of creative problem solving. His vision for our country is beyond anything I have ever imagined. It will take a lot of work from every one of us, but Andrew lays out a path to follow, and ways to include all of us in this necessary transformation of our "home". I have NEVER IN MY LIFE been as excited about voting for a presidential candidate as I am about voting for Andrew Yang, and I'm 60 years old!

When Sylvester, the Duke of Salford, first meets Phoebe Marlow, he finds her dull and insipid. She thinks he is insufferably arrogant. But when a series of unforeseen events leads them to be stranded together in a lonely country inn, they are both forced to reassess their hastily formed opinions, and they begin to discover a new-found liking and respect for each other. But what Sylvester doesn’t know is that Phoebe is about to publish a novel - a novel in which all London will recognize him as the villainous ‘Count Ugolino’

Such Fun!
Revisado: 07-23-19
This was such a pleasure! Lots of tomfoolery, and all the way through, you keep wondering how the author is going to bring about the ending, which seems inevitable, but highly unlikely. I won't be more plain, as I don't want to give anything away.

Miryem is the daughter and granddaughter of moneylenders, but her father's inability to collect his debts has left his family on the edge of poverty - until Miryem takes matters into her own hands. Hardening her heart, the young woman sets out to claim what is owed and soon gains a reputation for being able to turn silver into gold. When an ill-advised boast draws the attention of the king of the Staryk - grim fey creatures who seem more ice than flesh - Miryem's fate, and that of two kingdoms, will be forever altered.

Fabulous Empowered Women Charcters!
Revisado: 01-09-19
Absolutely loved it. The only thing that was a little confusing at times was the fact that the narrator didn't differentiate character voices as much as she could have. As a result, it would often take a few moments to figure out who was speaking. Regarding the story, the only thing I wanted was for Irina's and the Czar's story to have had more of a completion. Definitely worth it, and now I want to find other books by the same author.

Historia
Demonstrating once again her gift for spellbinding storytelling, Anne Rice makes real for us a great dynasty of four centuries of witches - a family given to poetry and incest, murder and philosophy, a family that over the ages is itself haunted by a powerful, dangerous, and seductive being called Lasher who haunts the Mayfair women. Moving in time from today's New Orleans and San Francisco to long-ago Amsterdam and the France of Louis XIV, from the coffee plantations of Port-au-Prince to Civil War New Orleans and back to today, Anne Rice has spun a mesmerizing tale.

Creepy in a Disturbing Way
Revisado: 11-01-18
First of all, this book could have used major editing. I don't mind a book being long, but I object when a lot of the writing is filler. Secondly, the book has far too much incest and creepy sex scenes that are just revolting and disturbing. I didn't make it all the way through, and I don't plan to listen to the sequels.
