The narrator didn’t even try for different tones between men and women, she emphasized words seemingly at random, she made them all sound like chipper little kids. Her narration pretty much ruined the story for me

The story was riveting, narrator lacking. Some weird male voices, could've been better. Story fantastic.

So despite their outward appearance of romance (shirtless men on the cover 🙄😕)..they're more akin to Outlander than you'd think..more historically accurate with a bit of that romance thrown in. About Scotland and England, picking up right after William Wallace's (Braveheart) execution. No traveling back in time for anyone, though. And so far, pretty accurate with people, places of battles, etc... Not as well done as Outlander, but awesome in its own right! Definitely not for younger readers due to some adult, sexually explicit content.
