As in most of these self-help books built around systems being the answer, there is very little at all about how to get motivated and stay motivated at doing this. His principles work. But so do everyone else’s…IF you do them. What I lack is the motivation to do them.

Worth listening to.

The content of this book is worth reading. I will say that the author should get a professional reader to record these. He is okay. But his pacing and cadence and inflections are simply B-level.

Cheers and Celebration

So often these days, stories simply fall off the rails or crash land in a fiery heap. This one is an exception. Will and Travis completed the story masterfully! It’s just fun to get lost in other worlds listening to twelve installments of characters who feel like my friends. And then to feel the satisfaction as if they all were crossing the finish line together. Then after that, BLOOPERS!!!!! What a ride!

The first time through this story, I read the ebook. This time through, I listened to the audiobook. Will and Travis are a dynamic team. Very fun and engaging!

I purchased this to learn about writing. But, as I suspected, it was also a bunch of stories that had nothing to do with that. But it was titled correctly. So I have no complaints.

Continually fantastic!

Seldom do I read a long series that is seamlessly engaging. But Cradle is the exception. Dreadgod is the 11th stage of what we are told will end with the next phase. Can’t wait!

Even better now!

I first read House of Blades in 2013 when it was released. Then when it became an audiobook a few years later read by the author, Will Wight, I immediately listened. And I’ve done that several times since. But this version by Travis Baldree is just WAY BETTER! I’ve always loved the story and now Travis brings the characters to an entirely new level. Highly recommend!

Too much technical detail for me.

Although I enjoyed this book, I did find my mind drifting MANY times. I actually come from an engineering family and have an engineering background. But when I read/listen to a book, I want to escape from the details of that world. Way more tech details in this book than in The Martian. I would prefer it the other way. With that said, the narration and production were next level awesome!

Ridiculous, but well-written and performed

I have never rolled my eyes so much listening to a story! It feels like my eyes hurt. Most characters were simply acting both inconsistently and in an unbelievable manner. One of a hundred examples is this: a showdown fight with a trained and experienced adult male assassin fighting a teenage girl. The girl out-thinks him, out-muscles him, out-maneuvers him. I’ve read MANY Patterson stories. This one is completely ridiculous.

I will say that both the female and male narrators were fantastic and the writing is top-notch.

Unsatisfactory ending

When I listen to a fictional novel for entertainment, I want closure of the main storylines. Grisham left way too many things open-ended for my tastes.
