Historia
The Four Realms—Life, Death, Light, and Darkness—all converge on the city of dusk. But the gods have withdrawn their favor from the once thriving and vibrant metropolis. And without it, all the realms are dying. Unwilling to stand by and watch the destruction, the four heirs to divine power—Angelica, an elementalist with her eyes set on the throne; Risha, a necromancer fighting to keep the peace; Nikolas, a soldier who struggles to see the light; and Taesia, a shadow-wielding rogue with a reckless heart—will become reluctant allies in the quest to save their city.

Phenomenal fantasy
Revisado: 06-05-22
Holy crap. The City of Dusk was so phenomenal that I’m almost not even mad about that killer cliffhanger. Almost, lol.
Well rounded, complex characters that I fell in love with. Cool worldbuilding & magic system. Excellent narration/performance.
Also FYI, so no one else feels dumb like I did: the thing all the characters reference that shut off their realm from the other realms is called “the Sealing” (with an S), not “the Ceiling” (with a C) like I thought for half the book til I briefly switched over to reading the ebook for a bit while I waited for my headphones to charge, lol. “The Sealing” made way more sense than “The Ceiling” in context once I knew better, but you obviously can’t see the spelling of words when you’re listening to an audiobook so I just thought it was a similar concept to how people talk about “the glass ceiling” and went with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Historia
Sergeant Major Scratch Keyes of the King’s Guard is having a bad night. First, her king denies her the promotion she rightfully earned, as well as the knighthood that goes along with it. And then, when Scratch is wallowing somewhere near the fetid rock bottom, she and her best friend, the gregarious Sergeant James Ursus, are arrested for orchestrating the abduction of Princess Frances and sentenced to death. On the whole, things could be better.

Utterly delightful!
Revisado: 02-22-22
Walk Between Worlds was a charming, thoughtful, and hilarious debut that I so, so hope gets a sequel. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a lighthearted (but still full of heart) queer fantasy tale.

Unique fantasy

Three Parts Dead is the first book of the Craft Series urban fantasy series. I really enjoyed the world building & unique magic system, and the narration was great. Incredibly fun read!

One of my all time favorite books!
Revisado: 11-07-20
I first read Compass Rose a little over a year ago but jumped at the chance to do an audiobook reread ahead of the upcoming 2021 sequel, Sea Wolf! I loved this one just as much a second time, and highly recommend reading it in whatever format you’d prefer!
