One of my favorites! I’ve re-read this one too many times to count. Such a cozy, cute (and spicy) story. I love all the side characters from around the town, especially as you see them again in the series. (This is book 1 of 4 in an interconnected standalone series! But they’re best read in order )

This audiobook has basically become a go-to comfort listen for me when I want to read but I just don’t know what I’m in the mood for. Or if I need to throw something familiar on while I work (from home)

Spicy, angsty, emotional, funny and so good.

Excellent performance

I can’t believe I waited so long to read the Demon’s Bride after reading and loving Leigh’s other books (Monster’s Manor, Nora’s Kraken, Kenna’s Dragon, The Orc from Accounting) Nora’s Kraken was also recently released in audio so I cannot wait to re-read that one soon too. Demon’s Bane (second in the Crescent Covent series after Demon’s Bride) was just released in ebook and I’m going to run and start that immediately!!

Took a Great Book and Made It Even Better

The audio for this book may be close to perfection. I had already loved Done and Dusted in ebook and physical format - but hearing Luke and Emmy was something else. Stella Hunter and Aaron Shedlock were incredible. They conveyed their personalities and emotions so well. Sometimes you listen to a book and just can’t connect the narrator with the character, but this was perfect cast.

The story is sweet and steamy. I’ll love Luke Brooks til I die. Literally the only thing I could have wanted from this story was MORE OF IT.

I cannot wait for the rest of the Ryder siblings’ books. I feel like Wes will absolutely steal my heart.

So glad I bought this and I imagine it will be in a very frequent listening rotation.

The excessive use of “female” was really annoying. At least throw woman in there half the time.

Almost stopped it in the first chapter because of the narration but stuck with it and they grew on me.

I enjoyed the narrator for Dylan. REALLY did not enjoy the narrator for Tessa. She didn’t fit at all.

Uses the R word to insult someone. Later uses “that’s gay” for the same effect. Not that the language was great then either, but you can tell how dated this book is.

Narrated gasps air in before lines and it made me anxious once I noticed it.

Prepare for disappointment

For some godforsaken reason they changed from a duet narration to a single man (different from vol 1) to narrate both parts. It's hard to listen to and he makes things sound almost sinister sometimes. The voice he does for Olivia is awful. I would have stopped listening but I was too caught up in needing to know how the story went and didn't want to pay for a text version to read instead. Miserable.

Save yourself

Really enjoyed this one - but didn’t realize til it hit the climax that the story was broken into parts. The end of the recording didn’t even mention the next one lol. Not only that, but the dual narration of vol 1 is replaced in vol 2 and 3 by one different man. And it is not good. So disappointed. But I’m the type of person who has to finish it even if I hate it. So save yourself and don’t even listen to this one because 2 and 3 are SO bad.
