The author does a wonderful job of further building “family“ in a blanket of love that is all-accepting, even in the face of evil. Very well done. Hopeful that the author will write more.

The book The Women) by Kristen Hannah was beyond superlative. Remarkably well written and educational. The author covers many lifetimes of difficulties and challenges, and, specifically, more so for those women who went to Vietnam. Absolutely stunning.

A horrific true story of sexual abuse by priests of boys at a Catholic school in Tasmania. It is honest and is a story that needs to be told. I know of its truth because I was there. Very well written by a survivor.

"The Starless Sea" demonstrates Erin Morgenstern's phenomenal imagination and creativity as she has written this work of truly epic fantastical fiction. The characters are so well developed that I started identifying with one of them. I cannot even begin to imagine how she could imagine a story on so many layers and stories within stories. Absolutely phenomenal. And here's to Zachary and Dorian!

Would you listen to The City of Mirrors again? Why?

Yes, in order to be part of that world again.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The City of Mirrors?

Finding Amy again.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

Powerfully expressive reading.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Our world is so much grander than we realize.

Any additional comments?

This book was phenomenally well-written by Justin Cronin and equally well-read by Scott Brick. I already miss the world they created.

What made the experience of listening to The Innovators the most enjoyable?

Dennis Boutsikaris's reading performance was extraordinary.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Innovators?

The development of the Internet.

Have you listened to any of Dennis Boutsikaris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Perhaps one of his best performances. His reading style added a valuable dimension of emotion when appropriate.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I would listen while driving and occasionally drive around the country block a couple of times to continue listening.

Any additional comments?

Excellent in all regards!

An extraordinarily far-reaching book, both in terms of its reach over time and its depth of human experience. Also, the reading/performance by David Pittu is phenomenal. He actually brings the individual characters to life. Wonderful.

Better narration please!

Hosseini has an amazingly intimate understanding of human relationships and invests it in his novel. However, the narration is one of the most difficult I have ever heard. Rather than relaxing and submerging myself in the literary art of the author, I am constantly struggling to understand what is narrated, frequently replaying sections. While meaning absolutely no disrespect for the individual narrators or for any ethnic accent, I can come up with no reason whatsoever why a book narrated in any given language shouldn't indeed be narrated in that natural language rather than heavily accented from another language. If I write a book in English but wish it to be narrated in Afghanistan, I would make a point of finding a narrator who spoke natural Pashto and/or Dari, not in a heavily accented foreign-language translation. Just writing this note leaves me frustrated since I doubt it will reach any ear that will have any constructive effect. I must assume that the author himself is involved in the choice of the narrators and I do wish he were able to see this comment in the respectful manner in which it is intended.

Although I do not know the author's age, it seems that the author of "Out Stealing Horses" must surely have been an adolescent when he wrote this book. Given the fact that I was hoping for more of the high quality writing of "Out Stealing Horses", I must admit I was a little disappointed to spend the entire book seeing the world through the eyes of an adolescent with all of the attendant undeveloped adolescent personality characteristics and disorders. But perhaps that's the goal.
