Crappy Title. Amazing Read.

I almost didn't try this book out, but I'm glad I did. I get the author is trying to be funny, but the title was so boring I almost overlooked this book entirely. I'm about to buy book 2 though. This guy is the next Douglas Adams.

Another great read with interesting twists, entertaining characters, and depth. Another great book from the author. Also, I loved the "Barney-Style" reference to his sci-Fi series. Tasteful and Fun. Buying the next book now.

'The Fold' meets 'Terra Nova' - Great story

great story, great narration. bears an Erie resemblance to 'The Fold' (a great sci-fi with this same narrator), but the impact of the gate has more of a 'Terra Nova' feel. (sci-fi tv series) Loved the first book in this series. Now I've bought the second.

Another intense philosophical sci-fi.

a great sequel to earlier books in the series. it manages to continue in presenting both an interesting story and a deep philosophical exploration. loved it.

Note:
the first half of the book is presented in a very strange way that seems like it should have been done with less jumping around, but later you learn there is a good reason for this presentation. Having finished the book, I can't imagine a more effective presentation of the situation presented in this story.

already recommended to family. will reread. already changed how I approach care tasks and had significantly reduced the stress surrounding it, in turn, almost ironically, helping me do more than I was before. amazing book.

Absurd, Beautiful, Therapeutic, Empowering...

This was one of the strangest and most powerful mental health self-help books I've ever read. It's so radically different that, at first, you wonder why you keep listening, but as you fly through it, you find yourself feeling better, more empowered, and accepting of yourself. Instead of statistics and research, you get to see life through the eyes of someone with challenges that strives to improve herself and find happiness, even in dark places. Highly recommend!

Andy Weir is an amazing hard sci-fi author and is no one-hit-wonder. High expectations after reading The Martian and I wasn't disappointed.

this was a great hard science fiction. The concepts regarding a different form of life deriving from a different celestial environment was incredibly well written. this ranks up there among my top favorite hard sci-fi's.

Great Except ...

Wonderful, calming narrator. Very useful and clear content.
Not modified for audio. No access to worksheets. Basically says - 'complete exercise for ... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. complete exercise for ... 1, 2, 3, 4.' Those parts are truly useless without the worksheets.
Still recommended, but annoyed.
