Historia
In looking at the forces that shaped the 2016 presidential election, one thing is clear: Much of the population believes that our economic system is rigged to enrich the privileged elites at the expense of hard-working Americans. This is a belief held equally on both sides of political spectrum, and it seems only to be gaining momentum.

Good Content
Revisado: 06-22-16
What did you love best about Makers and Takers?
Clarity. This book is easy to follow.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
It is well read but the reader has a little bit of a "vocal fry" (I actually had to look it up).

Historia
Mike Lofgren is back with a book perfectly pitched for the frenzied circus of the primaries. His argument this time is that for all of the backstabbing and money grubbing of the campaign season, the politicians we elect have as little ability to shift policy as Communist party apparatchiks. Welcome to Mike Lofgren's Washington, DC - a This Town where the political theater that is endlessly tweeted and blogged about has nothing to do with actual decision making.

Eye Opening!
Revisado: 04-25-16
What did you love best about The Deep State?
It starts out a little boring but then becomes an eye opening "page turner"!
What did you like best about this story?
The uncovering of the people who pull the strings behind the scene.

Historia
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Awful !
Revisado: 09-13-14
Would you try another book from E. L. James and/or Becca Battoe?
No
Has Fifty Shades of Grey turned you off from other books in this genre?
Yes
How could the performance have been better?
The book is so bad I think no one could read it well. What would it made a little more bearable if the reader would have shortened reading all the emails without the "from Anastasia Steele, To: Christian Grey. Subject: blablabla Time: 8.32 pm ....then comes a short email and every one ends with : Christian Grey...Grey Enterprises, Holding Inc."
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
I found it totallly annoying
Any additional comments?
Extremely bland, poorly written book. By the middle of the book the author described Christian Grey's fingers as "long" at least 9 times. I did not count how many times it was mentioned that her chewing her lips turns him on. Every time he sends her a gift, or shows up unannounced she thinks: "Wholly SHIT" "Wholly CRAP" "What the "FUCK". But the most annoying thing is her constant: "Ohhhh MEI" repeated over and over and over. The book feels like it is written by a 14 year old teenager. The least compelling book I have ever listened to.

Historia
Can a country be a democracy if its government only responds to the preferences of the rich? In an ideal democracy, all citizens should have equal influence on government policy - but as this book demonstrates, America's policymakers respond almost exclusively to the preferences of the economically advantaged.

Revisado: 05-11-14
What did you like best about Affluence and Influence? What did you like least?
This might be a good and important book but I find it hard to listen too while not looking at the charts at the same time. A printed format might be better suitable.

Its employees outnumber the populations of almost one hundred nations. Too much history; a little boring
Revisado: 04-30-13
What would have made Power, Inc. better?
To have let the reader now that (at least the first part of the book) is going far far back in history, describing powers of church and kings, etc. I was expecting to hear more about todays corporate powers (which might come later in the book, but I found to so lengthy that I never get there).
What do you think your next listen will be?
Paul Krugman: End This Depression Now
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It's probably really interesting for history lovers.

Historia
Over the past decade, Americans watched in bafflement and rage as one institution after another - from Wall Street to Congress, the Catholic Church to corporate America, even Major League Baseball - imploded under the weight of corruption and incompetence. In the wake of the Fail Decade, Americans have historically low levels of trust in their institutions; the social contract between ordinary citizens and elites lies in tatters. How did we get here? Christopher Hayes offers a radically novel answer.

Revisado: 04-08-13
What made the experience of listening to Twilight of the Elites the most enjoyable?
Despite having read other similar books I trusted the reviews and listened to this book as well. It explains well, why we are stuck in a society run by the top and why the elite have difficulty emphasizing with the rest of us.
